having been around this game for so long,
I have several greatest moments.
1. Discovering sack monster Leif Murphy.
and my one man propaganda campaign despite
the naysaying of AFL fans.
Never giving up hope that he would make it to the
indoor games top eschelon. And making yearly
pleas & overtures to the AFL, that he should be
playing in the league. Watching my now good friend
become arguably Indoor Football greatest
defensive end in the process. It brings a
tear of joy to my eye, I hype you not.
2. Being knighted as the Omaha BEEF Official Good Luck
Charm by another friend, Coach Robert Fuller.
And subsequently being awarded my own chapter
of the Omaha Meatheads, The Windy City Chapter.
2. Attending the inaugural AFL season in 1987, and
seeing the Chicago Bruisers win attain their 1st victory.
3. Attending ArenaBowl 88 aka ABII in 1988 after
the Bruisers 10-1-1 season.
4. Experiencing my 1st ever UIF game in and
the enlightenment that accompanied the event.
Indoor Football UIF style IS better than Arena Football.
5. Attending the National Indoor Football Championship
in Sioux Falls .2008. Witnessing the birth of a new league
and meeting some great fans and dignitaries. Wow !
there are more , many more ... meeting Bobby Sippio,
meeting and dining with Jim Foster and his parents,
making the acquaitance of 2008 AFL Defensive Player
of the Year Dennison Robinson, and the sage advice
he gave me when it comes to haters.Meeting fans
and making friends everywhere I go.
and though it has never put a single dime in my pocket,
I love this game with all my heart and soul.
