Danger! Nebraska gets an Indoor Football League team
By Harold Reutter / theindependent.com
October 4, 2010
There are only 145 days -- 3,480 hours -- until the Nebraska Danger's initial kickoff at the Heartland Events Center as part of the Indoor Football League.
The Nebraska Danger is owned by Charlie Bosselman, president of the Bosselman Family of Companies, who announced the new IFL team, as well as team management and coaches, during a press conference this afternoon at the Heartland Events Center.
Between now and the February kickoff, the Nebraska Danger must conduct player tryouts, order 1,000 footballs and order helmets, shoulder pads and other football pads, uniforms, an artificial turf for the Heartland Events Center and wall pads.
Bosselman said he believes the Nebraska Danger fits in with the Bosselman philosophy of being a Grand Island-based company that does a lot of business in small communities throughout the state.
He said the Danger will be promoted as a Nebraska team, not as a Grand Island or Tri-Cities team.
