Wow, great game, but the end leaves me with two word. No Class. Chicago played good, and the players were fine, but the coach going for the TD at the end, TWICE, when they could have knee'd out was poor sportsmanship.

He was even talking with the fans, saying "it was an 11 point spread, I had to make sure I covered" then laughing. The next time he had a fan yelling at him and he just laughed in their face.

Great catch from Headd for a TD (their third scoring connection). 2pt Conv is good. La Crosse 48, Chicago 48 3 min's to go I thought at this point in the game when they tied it up that La Crosse was actually going to pull it off. The next drive took the wind right out of the place, and it was like the players just ran out of gas. In my blog I said "if the Spartans new Offensive weapons are in sync and don’t make mistakes ... the team can pull out another win against Chicago". Well, I wasn't too far off. They made too many mistakes, and still almost pulled it off. Fun game, but disappointing. Glad the season is back though.

Turnovers.
Have to give it to Chicago's defense, they made the plays when they needed to. Radtke was player of the game for me.
Spartans showed a lot of improvement I thought, offense just needs to play tighter and avoid turnovers. I thought Rivera was the better of the two QBs tonight, but that might be because he has more indoor experience.

The crowd sure wanted Rivera. After the very first mistake Maiuri made some started chanting "Buddy". After the second mistake just about my whole section was chanting for Rivera to come in.
I personally wasn't ready to give up on Maiuri that quickly, but when Buddy had his chance, he did look better. I guess we will see what they decide after a few weeks off (Bye weeks 1 and 2).
They were also booing the kicker after the missed PAT. We have had NO luck at kicker (this is the 4th for the team in the year they have been around), and the fans were starting to get fed up with it.

Speaking of turnovers.. The Spartans missed several great chances to pick off Chicago and never could keep a hand on it. Too bad. It was a good game. I just can't root for a city so corrupt that it gave us our current president, so I was pulling for the Spartans..

Has anyone else noticed that Chris Kokalis talks to the media waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much? I think this is partly why I don't like the guy. There is not another GM in the league that gets interviewed like that after a game. It should be all about the players and coaches. Seems Kokalis just has this huge ego and wants to see himself quoted.
That reporter also deserves some criticism for not having any player quote. That is just laziness. How do you write a game recap and not include any quotes from players? Very strange and lazy.

Thats true, but it was a great production compared to anything else I have seen on B2. Here's to more like it.

Watched the game online. Chicago easily could've taken a knee at the end of the game, both times they had the ball. That type of stuff is what gives indoor football a bad name.

Especially when the OC started jawing with the fans... he knew he was rubbing it in at that point. The Spartans will face them again in April. Should be fun.

...That reporter also deserves some criticism for not having any player quote. That is just laziness. How do you write a game recap and not include any quotes from players? Very strange and lazy. I already have had some emails with the reporter, and got an answer from him on this topic. I feel he is doing a much better job than the reporter last year. They have also usually been front page of the Sports section, rather than page 2-4 of the Sports section. His quote: "...The length of the game, however, made it impossible to get player quotes for the story. That part, well, made it challenging on my part..." The game did go long... A 7:00 kickoff, and it didn't end until 10:25, and his article was posted on their site by midnight. I felt that some of the game being long was due to more/longer TV timeouts, and some was due to the refs, and other delays.
