The Bradley-Terry rankings go off a formula based on who you win and lose against. The Massey rankings go indepth into margin of victory, etc. This week's Massey rankings don't include the Monday night matchup that Nebraska won over Wichita. It seems Wichita is benefiting from last year's results evidently. Nebraska is also number one on defense for Massey (but that's because they have them not playing a game, so holding an opponent to 0 yards will do that). As the week's progress, these rankings will look a lot better. It is interesting how different the ratings are for some teams (West Texas for example) and very similar for others.
I think Massey has West Texas so low because even though they are 2-0, they have beaten two teams that are not rated very well. Long term I think this is good logic for the Massey ratings.
I don't think Massey even takes into account last year, so Wichita and Nebraska will move a lot once that game is entered into their system. (it still hasn't been)
I agree it will be interesting to see how these ratings work out over the season.
I have actually been starting develop my own ratings similar to these... but using some different factors that they don't look at. Even just getting a simple version working, I can see how much work it takes to truly analyze all of that data.

Omaha is high in Bradley-Terry because they beat a team with two wins. When you have wins against teams with good records, and have a good record yourself, you do well in Bradley-Terry.
I do think prior seasons was taken into account for Wichita, otherwise they'd be tied with Nebraska and not in third in the Massey rankings. I think after teams play one game though, Massey drops the prior season stuff. I'm not sure, but he might only update his rankings every Sunday.
