We're being told to evacuate on the Oregon Coast due to Tsunami Warnings after an 8.9 Earthquake in Japan.
Call me a skeptic, but I seriously doubt we'll get anything higher than a foot above normal tides. Hawaii's about to be hit in 20 min's so we'll see what they get first. They're predicting 6 foot waves (higher than normal) here...yeah, no way. Tsunami waves are different than normal waves that recede after hitting the beach in that they keep coming, bringing tons of debri and sediment along with them that they picked up along the way. I know a lot about Tsunami's after the Indian Ocean hit a tourism spot I've been to before. I understand being cautious though. We're in the Tsunami zone, but not directly on the beach. 6 foot higher waves would not get us, maybe 10 or 15.
