The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the winners of the 2011 IFL Year End Awards for outstanding achievements throughout the 2011 Season.
Franchise of the Year: Green Bay Blizzard
The Green Bay Blizzard earned the Franchise of the Year by being determined by their peers to be the overall best team this season. Categories to be considered for achieving this award consisted of attendance, sales, public relations, marketing, and performance on the field, community involvement, and best representation of the IFL.
Executive of the Year: Teri Carr, Tri-Cities Fever
Teri Carr was chosen as the IFL Executive of the Year by her peers. Teri was voted on the premise that the management, guidance, and leadership she provides benefit not only Tri-Cities, but reflect positively on the entire league as well.
Best Fan Base: Nebraska Danger
This award was based on the Danger’s fan-base proving to be the most enthusiastic, having the most character and energy, and providing the most overall appreciation for their team. Nebraska is also the league leader in attendance, selling out completely in the first three games of franchise history.
Best Game Operations: Sioux Falls Storm
The Best Game Operations was awarded to Sioux Falls with the basis of the Storm providing the best game presentation. This included half-time shows, giveaways, music, public address announcer, and on-field promotions.
Best Team Mascot: Omaha Beef
The Best Mascot of the 2011 season goes to Sir-Loin of the Omaha Beef. Voting was based on the quality of costume, reaction of the crowd to the mascot, and the best person inside the costume as well. Sir-Loin is a prime cut steak that represents the Omaha Beef, Sir-Loin gains his recognition for fan interaction as well as creativity of costume and title.
Best Cheerleader/Dance Team: Chicago Slaughter Dance Team
The Chicago Slaughter’s dance team earned the Best Dance Team Award based in providing the most talented and most attractive dance team. Uniforms, class, routines, and crowd interaction were also factors in deciding the award.
Best Team Website: Bloomington Extreme
Bloomington winning the Best Team Website Award for the second year in a row based on premise of continuing to have the best looking, most easily manageable, and best content provided by their website.
Best Media Relations: Lehigh Valley Steelhawks
The Lehigh Valley Steelhawks earned this award by being the best at getting media involvement, writing press releases, hosting press conferences, and gaining significant coverage of their team for the 2011 season.
Community Relations Award: Reading Express
The Community Relations Award is presented to the team that best exemplifies outstanding service and dedication to their community. The Express received this award based on their contributions to the Reading community including volunteer efforts, junior camp efforts, community promotions, and outreach programs in their surrounding area
