Yeah, because bringing in Oklahoma City worked out so well.

OKC's market was dead before the AFL left, and did not have local ownership nor a marketing plan.
Tulsa is a fairly strong AF2 market... perhaps too late in the game, however to get them in this year.

Tulsa was also dying due to ownership failures. No league should even try Tulsa before 2013.

I didn't say anything about OKC, so as not to compare apples to oranges. But for the sake of friendly conversation.
Submitted for your approval the cities of Peoria and Bloomington, Il. Both now have a storied non outdoor football history. Yet, as it stands, only one can currently field and support an IFL team. Tulsa, and OKC "could" very well be comparable in this wise.
The feet fanbase wasn't exactly puny, and with likely less than 8,500 PAID attendance needed for an IFL team to make a go of it ( as Mr. Ross expalained was needed for an afl team to make it) . I have no idea why they didn't do go IFL, right from the start and have to agree with the ownership failures theory.

Just find is odd Not all Intense League teams have left. Fairbanks is still in the IFL. Maybe not for long though. They took another hit on workmans comp rates and will likely fold unless a savior steps in.
