UIFL Welcomes Lakeland

ATHENS, GA - The Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) will now have two teams in the state of Florida.
UIFL President Andrew Haines has announced that Lakeland, FL will join the league's Southern Division, bringing the total to six teams in the division. The previously announced expansion teams in the newly formed division are the Rome (GA) Rampage, Florida Tarpons along with Tupelo, MS, Raleigh, NC and East Ridge, TN.
"Lakeland brings another solid location for an UIFL team," said Haines. "The South Division is starting to come together nicely."
The Lakeland franchise will play its home games at Jenkins Arena, located in the Lakeland Center.
The names and logos, along with the ownership, will be announced at a later date.
