LIONS 58, PANTHERS 39
COLUMBUS, Ga. – Damian Daniels intercepted four passes and Gerald Gales caught three touchdowns as the defending SIFL champion Columbus Lions defeated Albany to claim top seed in the East.
Columbus has beaten Albany two times in three meetings this season.
Chris McCoy threw four touchdown passes and rushed for two more as the Lions turned a 19-10 deficit into a commanding 45-19 third quarter lead with 35 unanswered points.
Albany got as close as 48-39 on a safety with 7:12 remaining, but McCoy hit Daniels for a 17-yard score to give Columbus some extra breathing room.
Gales finished with 6 catches for 100 yards.
Cecil Lester threw for five Albany touchdowns.
MAGIC 42, RUFF RIDERS 20
HIDALGO, Tex. – Billy Garza threw three touchdown passes, while Ramonce Taylor caught two touchdowns and threw for one as the Magic claimed the West’s final playoff spot.
RGV led 35-6 midway through the third quarter and after Abilene closed to 42-20, the Magic defense posted a fourth-quarter shutout.
Victor Anderson had 4 interceptions for the Magic.
Larry Dockery threw for one touchdown and ran for another for the Ruff Riders.
HAMMERHEADS 62, BUCS 51
CORPUS CHRISTI, Tex. – Anthony Andre threw six touchdown passes as Corpus Christi clinched a playoff berth with a win over long-time rival Louisiana.
The Hammerheads led 35-14 in the third quarter before LA closed to one score on three fourth-quarter occasions.
Nathaniel Dunn led Hammerhead receivers with seven catches for 91 yards. Rueben Flowers had three picks – one for a touchdown – and Maurice Williams also contributed an early pick six for the Hammerheads.
Marcus Wilridge scored four touchdowns for LA.
RAIDERS 37, SPEED 36
RICHMOND, Va. – Antwon Young three touchdown passes as Richmond snapped a five-game losing streak.
Carolina closed to one point on Tanner Cunningham’s one-yard run with 48 seconds to play, but couldn’t hit a UNO that would have tied it.
Damon Thompson had seven catches for 104 yards and two Richmond touchdowns. Cooter Arnold caught two Speed scores.
EXPLOSION 71, STAMPEDE 32
ERIE, Pa. Adam DiMichele threw for nine touchdowns as Erie jumped out to a 22-1 lead early.
Kevin Concepcion and Tirone Morris combined for seven touchdown catches.
Brian Harris threw for 226 yards and four scores for Harrisburg.
HAMMERS 92, FORCE 12
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Germico McSwain set an SIFL record with seven touchdown catches as Alabama routed Fayetteville. Harrison Beck finished with eight touchdown passes.
