TITANS MAKE STRONG STATEMENT WITH TRADE
Cedar Rapids, IA: Cedar Rapids Titans General Manager/Co-Owner Chris Kokalis wanted to make a statement to let Titans fans, sponsors, players, and coaches know how serious he is about the Titans having a winning season and making a run for the 2012 IFL United Bowl championship trophy in the Titans inaugural season. He made that statement in a strong way Friday by acquiring one of the league's best wide receivers James Terry, and one of the leagues best defensive backs Javon Jackson from the defending United Bowl champion Sioux Falls Storm in a four player trade that sent Titans DE Jeremiah Price and DB Marciele Surrell to the Storm. "The only thing people judge us on is wins and losses in this game. We will win and make a run for a United Bowl Championship this season." said Kokalis. "We have brought in the best coaches and as shown in this trade and in our all of our signings during the off season we are bringing the best talent to Cedar Rapids."
The 6'4 210-pound Terry is coming off a First Team All-IFL season helping lead the Storm to a 2011 United Bowl Championship. Terry finished the regular season with 74 receptions for 864 yards. He racked up 22 touchdowns averaging a league best 72 yards a game. He also finished second in the league in touchdowns despite only appearing in 12 regular season games. Terry spent six seasons with the Storm and holds records in almost every offensive category including receptions, receiving yards, reception touchdowns, all purpose yards, and scoring.
Jackson also was an intricate part of the Storm's success in 2011 proving to be one of the top defensive backs in the IFL. The 6'2 195-pound Southern Utah grad appeared in 12 regular season games for the storm in 2011 and finished with 99 total tackles which included a league best 75 solo tackles. He finished 4 th in the league with 8 regular season interceptions. Prior to last season with the Storm, Jackson spent the previous two seasons with the Billing Outlaws helping lead the Outlaws to back to back IFL titles.
