Did you see the weigh ins BC? I watched the weigh ins thinking something significant happened since you brought it up...man, that's a half hour of my life I won't get back...pretty standard stuff. The three girls on stage sure were hot though...hope to see them ringside when I watch the rest of the events tomorrow.

I was able to see another of the main fights from yesterday, will have to see the other's later unfortunately...sigh. The fight I saw was the featherweight fight between Hettes vs Pham. I was very impressed with Hettes, he's relentless and knows his leverage really well. He trains with UFC Lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar (evidently he's been teaching him pretty good).

Remaining 3 Main Fights:
Light Heavyweight fight between Alexander Gustafsson vs Vladimir Matyushenko: I had picked Matyushenko, but Gustafsson got a jab in that Matyushenko ran directly into at the same time he threw it and went down for a tko (running into it right when he threw it just increased it's power). Gustafsson's longer reach proved a major advantage there.
Welterweight fight between Jon Fitch vs Johny Hendricks: Hendricks gets a 12 second knockout for a win thanks to his powerful left hand (second wrong pick for me).
Lightweight fight between Donald Cerrone vs Nate Diaz: Diaz was extremely accurate with his punches and his boxing skills dominated the fight. I had originally picked Cerrone in this, but changed to Diaz after looking at Diaz's history more, glad I did. Diaz seemed succeptible to Cerrone's Muay Thai kicking, but he deployed those skills too late into the fight to overcome Diaz's punishing punches. Whoever fights Diaz next needs to take advantage of that weekness and deploy kicks against him if they have that ability. Diaz flipped Cerrone off with both hands to start round three, lol, he was definitely motivated to kick ass and did so.
Preliminary Fights:
Dong Hyun Kim over Sean Pierson: Kim's very good with the kicks, wow. His second kick to the face landed hard and Pierson was shook. Good win for Kim.
Diego Nunes over Manny Gamburyan: Very close fight, Nunes just ended up getting in more strikes and kicks, and was able to avoid Ganburyan's attempts (mostly) of going to the ground and getting pounded.
Jacob Volkmann over Efrain Escudero: Volkmann was far and away the better wrestler/grappler and dominated the ground game. He wore him out big time, but Escudero got him in the power guillotine near the end and almost had him, but Volkman amazingly was able to get out of it. The crowd never seems to like the wrestling matches and always boos when it goes on too long, but I love them.
Joe Rogan really does a great job of analysis for the UFC fights. I never liked him much in anything else I've seen him in, but he's a perfect fit for MMA.

I see we both got the full 50 points in our fantasy picks, you by picking 2 fighters and me by picking all 5 fighters. Nice strategy by you. I pick all five fights as I don't want to put too many points on one person as an upset could happen at any time. I sure got lucky getting all five fights right.

Inside the MMA on HDNet is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows.

I totally miss HDNET...
In reality the 145# women's division probably needs to go away... Strikeforce created it because Cyborg and Carano couldn't cut down to 135 consistently... with Zuffa owning strikeforce Dana will slowly and surely erase the whole thing. Belator should step up and totally embrace WMMA. It sucks because it is so disjointed that several of the top fighters in the world aren't under strikeforce contracts..

Yeah, I enjoy the Women's MMA just as much as the men's. The strikeforce head honcho (forget his name) said with Cyborg banned for a year that this will pretty much revitalize the heavyweight (145) division in her absence...well see. I'm looking forward to Carano's movie coming out soon as well (previews looked good, but we all know how that goes). I'm for keeping the 145 division. When you ask fighters to cut down a weight class it can definitely effect their stamina from hydration loss. Look at how good Overeem has been the last 5 years since he went up to the heavyweight class, he hasn't been losing gas in later rounds anymore. Of course he finishes a lot of his fights early, but in his kickboxing matches, they go for quite aways.
