Welcome to the board!
I was stationed at McGuire AFB, NJ for 4 years and traveled all over the East Coast, but never made it to Erie unfortunately. Pittsburgh (driving across country from NJ to CA in 2 1/2 days...by myself) and Buffalo (on the way to Niagara Falls) was as close as I came. I sure do miss the East Coast.

I lived in Europe for a short period. Also Raliegh, Chicago, Boston and 26 yrs in D-FW area of TX. I decided to settle on Lake Erie where I water ski in summer and in winter 20 min away I can snow ski. I enjoy the change of seasons

Nice. I was also in Europe for 5 years, Japan 4, Korea 1, the Desert for a tour, and other places for short times. I miss living in foreign countries. I always thought Albuquerque, New Mexico would be a nice spot to live, it's got nice weather and is at the base of a mountain so you can go snow skiing when you want. I skied in the Appalachians for a couple of years, it's not the best skiing, but it was fun. Met one of my best friends up on top of the mountain, drunk as h from drinking tequila all morning. There was one black diamond slope I never went down, but regret it now...it was called the elevator shaft and it looked like one except it had moguls on it. That's the only slope that ever intimidated me...oh well. Sounds like a fun area though, skiing's the best. We have a mountain here in Oregon that has the best powder I've ever seen around the world, Mt Bachelor. On my to do list is sand boarding about an hour away from us here on the Oregon coast...lol. I don't enjoy the change of seasons anymore, that's for sure...give me heat and lots of it.
