The Nebraska Danger play a scrimmage Thursday night at home against the Nebraska Lawdogs of the the 11 man outdoor semipro Alliance Football League. Final score: Danger 58, Lawdogs 0 With an exciting, yet sloppy offensive performance, the defense carried the game with 5 interceptions, a touchdown on a fumble return, a safety and net passing yardage of -18 yards for the Lawdogs. A lot of flags thrown, the Danger gave up 113 yards in penalties, while the Lawdogs could only muster 54 net offensive yards on their own. Those are some very nice pics, you must have a good camera. Thanks. It's decent... a Nikon D80 and was using a really fast lens for these shots. Not a ton of spectators at the scrimmage, so the front row seats really helped too. I don't know if game pics are encouraged or discouraged, or if ok in moderation. I'll include a few more of the evening, if it's ok. Finger tip catch and a touchdown! 2.8 or faster? I know the lighting at the Heartland is challenging...

2.8 or faster? I know the lighting at the Heartland is challenging... You're right, it is challenging. I was actually using a lens you'd never consider... a Nikkor 35mm f/1.8 at ISO1000 in aperture priority mode, locked in at f/1.8. I used my Sigma 18-250mm for a number of shots too, like the green light shot above. It's only useful for low action shots though... topping out at about 1/80 at best. Having front row seats makes a HUGE difference. It was only a scrimmage, so the crowd was fairly sparce. The lens is pretty sharp, allowing for considerable cropping without spoiling the image. Closeup action solves a lot of issues, too.

Game pics are great btw, post them whenever you feel like it. Some users have older computers though and they can't handle the graphics sometimes, but if you post them in your own thread like you did here you can add as many as you want. If you start the thread, then you control the subject direction.

Great pics.
As far as the game goes, 58-0 can't be that encouraging for the Danger. The defense scored some of those points as well. This was a semi-pro outdoor team. The offense should have scored this many in the first half alone. And to have that many penalties against them is terrible. If the Danger needs to hold or pass interfere against this team what are they going to do against a real opponent?

Those are definitely some clear and colorful shots...the green on the uni's reallllllllly stands out nicely! I'm kind of partial to the navy blue pants with the home uni's though. As are these fans during a game last season... I don't know, I like both the blue and white one's. The shiny white one's do make them stand out more, which looks great for those long TD bombs.

The offense should have scored this many in the first half alone. And to have that many penalties against them is terrible. If the Danger needs to hold or pass interfere against this team what are they going to do against a real opponent? Mike McCoy agrees. What wasn't mentioned before was that they held out ten of their top players who were locks and most of the players on the field were playing for a roster slot. The majority of the cuts are hoped to be announced by the end of biz today, with the final roster in place by Monday so they can get to work. The defense looked soooooo far ahead of the offense last night, but then again, camp just opened last week too. Another weakness exposed last night was special teams tackling. The Lawdogs ripped off a number of nice returns, setting themselves up with decent field position that they never could capitalize on. The penalties were ridiculous... from delay of games to blocks in the back on most of the interception returns. I don't recall too many holding or pass interference calls, though. A few personal fouls that were stupid... but then again, aren't they always? For the record... the score was 44-0 at halftime and the second half almost seemed like a running clock. It flew by. The Lawdogs rushed almost exclusively in the second half.

It's not a bad strategy to hold out your top players to help in deciding your final roster cuts. They still could've played those 10 guys for a couple of series just to give them a little action though.
