Chicago at Green Bay
Coming into this game the Chicago Slaughter (1-5) are ranked #15 (that's above only Reading, there's only 16 teams this year) while the Green Bay Blizzard (4-1) are ranked #4.
This will be the first meeting between these two teams this season. Chicago needs a win bad if they hold out any hopes of making the playoffs. Green Bay trails only Sioux Falls in the loss column in the United Conference, but are likely fighting with Bloomington (who has a very easy schedule) for the second playoff seed in the conference.
The Blizzard have been one of the most solid teams so far this year. They had a closer game than expected in Cedar Rapids last week due to their QB suffering a pulled groin (but toughing his way through it), but winning on the road is hard, especially in front of a packed house. The Slaughter showed fire in Sioux Falls in the first half last week, but they don't have the talent or coaching wherewithall to go on the road in Green Bay and get an upset here. Or do they?
-------------------------------------
This week I'm going with the Green Bay Blizzard to get the win in their first home game at their normal home stadium (they've only played one other home game this year and it was in the old stadium previously used by the Green Bay Bombers for a very successful throwback game). Green Bay is solid on both sides of the ball and I don't see Chicago's weak passing attack overcoming their defense.
