MAY 12, 2012 COMMANDOS-ROME RAMPAGE GAME CANCELLED
The UIFL has announced that the May 12, 2012 Cincinnati Commandos – Rome (Ga.) Rampage game has been cancelled and will not be made up. The game will not count as a win or loss for either team, in the UIFL standings.
The two remaining regular season home games for the Commandos will take place as scheduled on Saturday, May 26 vs. the Erie Exp...losion and Saturday, June 2 vs. the Marion Blue Racers at The Cincinnati Gardens.
“Both the Commandos and Rome Rampage are disappointed the game will not be able to be played”, said Jason Buckely, General Manager of the Cincinnati Commandos. “Fielding a competitive team and travel challenges made this a difficult endeavor for the Rampage. Both teams agreed it would not make sense, both competitively and financially, to play the game”. Buckely added, “We remain focused to finish out the regular season, including the two remaining home games and to play for a third straight indoor football championship for the Commandos and their fans”.
In lieu of the game not being played, season ticket holders for the Cincinnati Commandos will have the option for either a refund or an exchange. The exchange can be good for a like seat, for either of the two remaining Commandos home games OR a potential home UIFL playoff game at the Cincinnati Gardens. For tickets purchased online, an automatic refund will take place to your account. For exchanges or refunds at the Cincinnati Gardens, please visit the box office during regular business hour; Monday – Friday, 10am – 5 pm.

Well, given this game won't count in the standings, I suppose that's how Florida's record will be better than Cincy's...11-0 is better than 10-0.
Clever.

That's okay, we would've won 105-7 anyway. Erie and Marion, those are true games.

This is crap. I wish the league would have Erie come down here to play. The only reason I suggest that is because the Commandos play Marion 4 times, and Erie only twice. Anyways this better not harm the Commandos chances of hosting the championship game. The Commando organization left the CIFL to get away from travel only teams, and cancelled games. I hope the Commando leadership looks long and hard at this and chooses a stable league for next season.

This definitely give substance to those Rome rumors of them folding and that Chattahoochie Valley semi-pro team playing in their place. Haines propped Rome up for one game after that rumor came out to try and dispel it, but it seems like he'll fold them before he lets Chattahoochie play for them just to show the rumor wrong.

Florida was going to get the No.1 seed anyway. Even if all 11 games were played by both sides, it would come down to points against. Right now it is: Florida 212 Cincinnati 236 Florida's remaining games are Lakeland, Rome(?), Mississippi, and Western Pa. Cincinnati's remaining games are Marion (2x) and Erie. Even with one fewer game, Florida will allow fewer points than Cincinnati, let alone taking into account average points against. That will be Cincinnati's "reward" for playing three playoff teams in seven of its 10 games (Marion 4, Erie 2, EKY 1; with a road win against each one) while Florida plays one playoff team (Lakeland) four times.

Cincy was suppose to pay for Rome to come over and decided not to.

If no other reason because it shoots dwindling league credibility in the ass. It tells the community how third rate they really are.
