You are going to make a mistake against the Storm, it is better to get it out of the way in the first quarter, and not wait till the 2nd half.
It is possible to rattle Dixon, I have seen it happen before in person. I am not sure if TC has the D-line to keep Dixon from extending plays.

@ tcfever - it didnt really bother me any, I just like to tell the story cause I think it's funny but I would probably agree that it isnt probably a good thing for the franchise for the owner to be flipping people off & you can tell by the success the team has had for an extended period of time that she cares deeply for the team. Everyone has a moment of weakness and as an owner to see your team that has fought so hard through the season getting beat in the championship game the way they did last year would be a good time for that moment. BNDC - I have seen Dixon get rattled and try and carry the team on his shoulders before. The 2nd to last time Billings played in SF, they lost and Dixon was hardly even looking down field for an open WR and was trying to do it all on his own, if that happens good things will happen for the opposing team. I do agree with you though, TC doesnt have the personnel to do that. I also think Dixon is a little older & more mature & cooler under pressure than he used to be. He is able & willing to stand in a little longer and extend plays with his feet behind the line of scrimmage before he tucks it in & takes off. The stats would still suggest that he is a very big threat with his feet. If you can take Dixon off of his game, you make few mistkaes, you make them early, you get a couple turnovers and are efficient with the ball you can beat the Storm. But I think you have to do all of those things and not just some of them and you have to do them for all 4 quarters. As soon as you rest on the Storm its all over.

My brother in-law & I were talking last night about Dixon & the Storm. We were discussing how the Storm would fare in its current state, but minus Dixon. I still think they would be one of the best teams in the league but not nearly as dominant as they are. There is no replacement for CD. But I think that with as good as Korey Williams has become and if Lorenzo Brown had more of an opportunity under center he would emrge as a decent QB given the WR weapons he has. Maybe they arent an undefeated team but I still think they would be a top 1 oe 2 team in the United Conference which would put them as a top 2 oe 3 team in the league. What are everybody elses thoughts?

With that OL, we could have Matt Strand and we would be 10-1

Your team losing isn't really a good reason to lose all class and treat a fan like that. That WAS a really tough and emotional loss of course. That sucks that happened, but I don't think that's who she is 99.9% of the time. I hope not anyway. She seems to be a nice lady, respected in our area. She really cares about the team, and treats the players and staff top notch. It's disappointing to hear that she would have lost control like that. Teri Carr is one of the good owners in the league IMHO. I'll forgive her giving the bird to someone, it happens to the best of people. At least she isn't all over cocaine like the former owner of my team (sigh).

Depends on the QB - it'd be nice to see what Dixon can do if the talent surrounding him wasn't the best in the league, just to see just how good he is.

I want to say that the coaching staff and players of the Storm are just about the classiest I have ever seen. Anyone who watched the game last night, HAD to have noticed the Refs. I always hate it when teams and fans who commit a lot of blatent flags, whine about getting called for the *cough* Everett *cough* Raptors. This wasn't the case last night, in my mind anyway. I have no idea what was going on with the refs, but as a fan of the home team, I even feel there was something very very wrong. This is not to take away from the GREATLY improved play of the fever. The players were awesome. But no one can argue in defense of the refs this week.
My point, is how SF's coaches and players reacted. Each and every flag, they just walked back, and called the next play. No screaming at the refs. No using the F word in front of little kids (like the Raptor's coach loves to do). No fighting whatsoever. And it carried over to the players. They kept their heads in the game, and acted with great class. Now that the game is over, I am sure they are filing a complaint with league office. If not, they should. It WAS bad last night.

29 penalties for 170 yards (a new IFL record for most by one team, by far). In contrast, the Fever had 8 penalties.
There was also a blatant non-call for intentional grounding that would've been a safety on the Fever for a game winning 2pts for the the Storm. A flag was actually thrown by a ref, but he got overruled by another ref and it was picked up. It's a good thing the Storm won, because that was ridiculous.
Usually officiating doesn't decide games in my opinion, but this year has seemed out of control in certain cities. I hope the league gets this issue corrected.
You know it's bad when other coaches tell the visiting coach to expect 20 penalties going in.

I thought the play before the flag pick up was grounding too. He was outside of the pocket, but the ball didn't go beyond the line of scrimmage.

In the post game, Riggs said that Coach Fuller had told him he would leave the game with 20 penalties. Pretty close.

The reffing was bad. I agree. However, one of the only things they got right was picking up the flag. Confirmed it watching the recorded game by our local NBC chanael. I thought it was bad the night of the game, but on TV, they got a good slow motion and the ball bounced near the ankles of Kennedy, the running back. One ref threw his flag, another had a better angle. That, was one of the few RIGHT calls they made. All and all, awful game. Like I said, SF should be filing a protest with the league. I, as a fever fan, sent a email commenting on the extreme one sided game. 29 penalties for 170 yards (a new IFL record for most by one team, by far). In contrast, the Fever had 8 penalties.
