Macon's facebook page says that the record attendance in the AIF is 6,500 what team has that? Macon also claims the Steel wants to beat that record with 7,000 at their next game.
how many did they have this past game?

That 6,500 is probably a game from when the league was known as the AIFA. Most likely it was the 2010 AIFA Championship Game in Baltimore.
I don't know the attendance numbers for Macon's first game, but I'll wager it was no more than 500. Hard to get people to come when they don't know you're there.

I wonder their plan to bring in 7000 It seems teams keep going back to the same cities over and over again. I feel you would have a much better chance to succeed in a new market where fans didn't already get burned

I agree. Cedar Rapids, a new market in the IFL, has sold out their first two games. They market fairly well though, whereas I don't think the AIF teams are doing much marketing (I haven't seen much of anything, but I'm not in the local area's either).
