Happy July everyone! It is hotter than what I think hell must be like here in KC. The place is incredible. Trees are going into hibernation and the ground is cracking like a big screen earthquake. It is still hovering in the high 60’s in Seattle so quite a change for this guy.
Really happy to have Zeb Sutton and the Indianapolis Panthers on board. Zeb is not only going to bring a good brand of football to our arenas, but he runs the kind of program that we all want to run. He will be emphasizing character, sportsmanship and fan friendly entertainment. When we all can get there the UIFL will be humming on all cylinders.
Working hard to bring a new partner into the UIFL. Integrity Sports from KC Missouri is a strong representative in the media broadcast industry on the educational side of the house. What I am looking for Steve Nash and Integrity to do is to stream all the UIFL games on the net with coach’s shows, halftime shows and all the other bells and whistles. What separated Integrity is the program that they have for developing budding broadcasters and color commentators, which falls in line with the UIFL mission statement. We want to be developing talent in all areas of professional sports and not just on football on the field.
The biggest challenge for me now is to market the league with a national program. I am looking for a naming rights deal for the league and some exclusive partners who can help us take the league to the next level. The difficult part of this process is of course knowing where the UIFL will be in a couple of weeks or a couple of months. We are certainly expanding and our league map is fluid so the sooner we can get some closure and some final decisions the better for me and the national marketing plan. Remember; this plan supports the league and that supports the individual teams moving forward. The more the league becomes stand-alone with a specific UIFL marketing plan, the faster we can introduce a program to reduce the cost to the individual teams.
I am off to a meeting with Integrity Sports today and to begin to finalize other UIFL corporate sponsorships this week. We have agreements with Sports Management Worldwide and a management corporation in Paris, France who wants to use the UIFL to train office professionals in professional sports so that they might be able to take the American marketing model back to Paris for their programs. Lots of stuff going on and never enough hours in the day, Happy Monday!
Have a great week! Jim
