I think this pretty much squashes the rumors that he's starting a new indoor football league now.

SIOUX CITY - Former councilman and mayor Bob Scott confirmed Wednesday he is circulating petitions to run for mayor in the Nov. 8 general election.
"I guess I'm pretty serious at this point," Scott said on Wednesday.
Among the issues the city will face are how to handle infrastructure and other problems left behind by the Missouri River flooding, he said.
"The city has not been directly impacted, but our neighbors have," Scott said. "...I have a little expertise in that area, unfortunately."
Scott was mayor when Perry Creek flooding inundated the west side of Sioux City in back-to-back floods in 1990.
"I lived in the valley for about a week," he said of the 100-year flood that damaged nearly 500 homes and businesses, causing an estimated $4.5 million in damage.
Scott also said he wants to see the city focus more in economic development.
"We need to put economic development back in the forefront. We haven't done that for a while," Scott said.
Scott, owner of R.E. Scott Co., an accounting and tax service business, is the majority owner of the Sioux City Bandits, the indoor football team that plays the Tyson Events Center.
Scott was on the City Council for 12 years, including serving as mayor. But at that time, council members elected the mayor not the voters. He went off the council in January 1998. He then served two terms on the Sioux City Community School Board.
