Well if you read close BlitzinBandit its a comment about the jump in ticket price. Mid Mo has never had attendance issue and has never paid players. They were already making money and succeeding. I cant comment on your location but $7 has been a successful price point for winning teams here numerous years so something close to that should certainly work in Sedalia. BlitzinBandit so interested in popping off instead entertain me by adding to the chat. Pretty sure they wont be paying players this season either 47

Mid Mo may have competed and had a winning team in the past with that price point not paying players, but the past couple years hasn't been so against "real" competition, including being outscored 231-87 against SC alone. They might realize they need to actually pay players or they are gonna get steam rolled by the rest of the league excluding the koyotes.

yeah sadly for Mid-Mo all things have stayed equal down there...and that will NOT be good against a league full of teams with paid players.

Especially with KC paying their players just up the road. Could seriously shrink the Outlaws talent pool.

Sedalia is a very small town and it is hard to generate the sponsorship dollars needed to be able to afford things like housing/food/travel/game checks. They need to raise ticket prices to try to generate some income, but have to be careful not to price themselves out of sales. I believe they draw pretty well, and their venue is the perfect size for what they're trying to do. Hopefully they can get through some of the bumps they'll experience this year and last a long time.
They actually have a decent talent pool to pull from if they can recruit a little stronger. CMSU, Mizzou, and Kansas City are all inside of an hour to Sedalia.

All great points it nice to get a variety of feedback on a topic. There lies your next major issue. They dont have a single person on staff or coaches with pro experiences. So your asking semi pro guys lacking in indoor and professional experiences to recruit just not going to happen. They recruit at the bar and areas guys that call them. Getting players thru friends of friends is not the road to wins or championship. Your hanging on at best like mentioned. 47

They actually have a decent talent pool to pull from if they can recruit a little stronger. CMSU, Mizzou, and Kansas City are all inside of an hour to Sedalia. The fact they are within an hour of KC is the problem. If a player has the option to play for either the Outlaws or the Renegades, will they chose the team that pays or the one that does not? So anyone in Kansas City or UCM (not CMSU) will probably chose Kansas City since UCM is halfway between the two cities and KC is, well in KC. LOL I will maybe say MU is a possible talent pool, since it is closer to Sedalia. What I was trying to say is that until this year Sedalia was able to draw from all the markets you mentioned, but this year that market has shrunk to anyone in that market that does not make the KC team. Do not get me wrong, I do not wish the Outlaws ill will, quite to contrary. They are one of the teams in the league I am most excited to see. A close away game, plus it almost has that playing your cross-town rival feel. I do not want to see them have problems, I am just worried.

Don't be naive. Just because a guy lives in KC doesn't mean he has a choice between the Outlaws and the Renegades. There are a number of guys in KC that have the talent to play at this level that haven't been or will not be invite to camp with KC. Many others will be cut. Especially at the skills position. Many of the Renegades skills positions are not local players, and with a roster cap of 25, there are many guys looking for a place to play. Sedalia or Topeka make geographical sense for them.
The trouble in Sedalia at this time is closer to what 47 is saying. Recruiting has to be better. You can't pay players? Have to find them perks. Partnerships with local places to get athletes free meals, etc... I'm not close to the Outlaws, so that's not to say they aren't doing some of this stuff. I think they'll be fine in the long run. I just don't think they'll start as quickly as some of the other teams.

So Charlie, what you are saying is that the players from the area that were invited to camp and asked to play for the Renegades will be playing for the Renegades. Where as if the Renegades were not around, they may have tried out for the Outlaws?
Or are you saying that all the players in the Kansas City/Warrensburg that who would have tried out for the Outlaws last year, but are good enough to make the Renegades will chose to get paid in KC, and the Outlaws will get what remains of the talent pool?
I maybe naïve, but that sure seems to be a shrinking talent pool.

You're misinterpreting.
Many KC guys were invited to camp. They sold local signings at try-outs to generate more try-out fees. 1 or 2 of them may make the team. Many of them wouldn't make the Outlaws.
The local guys who will be on the KC team this year all played elsewhere last season. AFL, IFL, UIFL. If there were no KC team this year, those guys would still be playing at that level, not trying out for the Outlaws. And define paid? $75/week. Outlaws aren't that far behind.
I'm curious who from Warrensburg is playing with the Renegades this season. I can think of one, but he's been living in Arizona and had been playing in Texas.
I want to see them both do really well. The Outlaws are behind the 8 ball, but KC hasn't really taken away much from the talent pool they can pull from. KC has brought in a greater percentage of players from out of town because of the relationships of their coach and their two personnel guys. Not because of open try-outs.
