So is the Dead Pool over for the year now that the playoffs are starting? Who won? The Deadpool's not over until each league's season reaches the playoffs. It's in the rules that if a team that qualified for the playoffs doesn't play, then they are considered dead for the contest purposes. Eastern Kentucky Drillers fall under that rule and if the IFL doesn't let the Omaha Beef into the playoffs, then they'll also fall under that rule. I'll update the final standings after all is known.

My standings:
10- AIF California Eagles - I'm going to count them even though they're in the title game 9- AIF Sin City Blackjacks - Winner 8- AIF Arizona Outlaws - Winner 7- UIFL Mississippi Hound Dogs - Winner 6- AIF Virginia Badgers - ****, didn't get this one, I don't think 5- APFL Colorado Lightning - Winner 4- APFL Cheyenne Warriors - Winner 3- UIFL WPA Sting - Winner 2- CIFL Indy Enforcers - Loser 1- CIFL Saginaw Sting - Loser
Don't think I'll win, but 46 points isn't a bad performance.

Badgers were a travel-only team and to my knowledge didn't fold. Maryland Reapers had to cancel their last game due to not being able to afford their arena anymore, so if anyone had them they went down.

Thanks! 8 of my 10 teams went down. Not bad! Missed Virginia and New Mexico.

Ok, I'll be getting off my butt soon to finalize the contest and see who won it so they can get their fame and glory.

Maybe you should start another "Dead Pool" for the silly season. Which teams are announced but never make it to the field. Just a thought.

If someone wants to put that on we'll definitely support it here. I know I don't have time to take it on though. I still have to tally the results of this one, been procrastinating. I will finish it soon though.

As you can see the top three got 7 correct picks each, but were separated by their confidence point selections. GBBomber actually got 8 correct picks, but unfortunately the two he missed were worth 10 & 8 confidence points each.

Teams that FOLDED during the 2012 Indoor Football Season (according to contest rules)
AIF (6) - Arizona Outlaws - California Eagles - Macon Steel - Maryland Reapers - Sin City Blackjacks - Ontario Warriors (league failed to deliver on promise to pay travel costs to title game, so they folded with games left on the schedule in a dispute with the league; i feel for them, but they made the wrong choice to join a scum league)
UIFL (6) - Huntington Hammer - Johnstown Generals - Mississippi Hound Dogs - Eastern Kentucky Drillers (chose not to go to the playoffs; now in CIFL) - Rome Rampage (folded, then replacements played in their jerseys; bought in off-season & repackaged as Georgia Rampage) - Western PA Sting (folded, then replacements played in their jerseys; bought in off-season & repackaged as Miami Sting)
APFL (3) - Colorado Lightning - Springfield Wolfpack - Cheyenne Warriors (quit the APFL mid-season due to their own shortcomings; now in IFL)
LSFL (1) - Houston Stallions
=============
Teams that started as full-fledged teams and ended up as Travel-Only teams at the end of the 2012 Indoor Football Season (not considered folding under 2012 rules, but will be for 2013 contest)
AIF (1) Carolina Force
CIFL (1) Chicago Vipers/Pythons
=============
Teams that qualified for the playoffs, but didn't go (teams choosing not to go was considered folding under 2012 rules, but the IFL & CIFL held out the Beef, Rage, and Predators)
UIFL (1) Eastern Kentucky Drillers
CIFL (2) Evansville Rage Port Huron Predators
IFL (1) Omaha Beef
=============
Rule Changes for 2013
1. If a full-fledged team finishes as a travel-only team, then that will be considered folding for contest rules (they failed to deliver on promises and uphold the standards of a professional team).
2. Failing to hold a scheduled home game will be considered folding for contest rules. Valid exceptions: -- Exception 1: Rescheduled games, as long as played, are fine. -- Exception 2: The arena is to blame, such as forcing a team to cancel or reschedule dates due to hockey playoffs (ala 2012 Kansas Koyotes). -- Exception 3: The visiting team is yet another replacement team put on by a scam league and the home team wants nothing more to do with those types of games (ala 2012 Cincinnati Commandos). -- Exception 4: Conditions in or around the arena/area prevent a game being safely played (such as natural disasters). -- Further exceptions will be discussed and voted upon during the season as warranted.
3. Not having enough players to field a team during a scheduled game, and having players from the other team play in your jerseys (ala ... i forget).

As a collective we were pretty good at spotting the teams with problems for 2012. Our top 6 were all correct and we also got 8 out of the top 9. Some of the teams we picked had difficulties, but were able to make it through the season mostly intact (and some folded afterwards). All in all I think we did pretty good as a group.Ok, having a little fun with this, I collected all the point values and came up with who's most likely to fold collectively (see the list below). Sin City comes in at #1 (I guess no one buys that Vegas can be successful in indoor football), Stockton (Cal) comes in at #2, WPA #3, Ari #4, and Mis #5 in the Top 5. 8 AIF teams were picked, which led all leagues (no shock there). Next was UIFL & APFL with 6 each , CIFL with 5, and PIFL & IFL with 4 each. No LSFL teams were picked, kind of surprising. 59 Sin City BlackJacks (AIF) 47 California Eagles (AIF) 42 Western PA Sting (UIFL) (NOTE: sold & repackaged as Miami Sting for 2013)
33 Arizona Outlaws (AIF) 32 Mississippi Hound Dogs (UIFL) 28 Ontario Warriors (AIF) 27 Virginia Badgers (AIF) (NOTE: relocated after the season finished)
26 Cheyenne Warriors (APFL) (NOTE: joined IFL after the season)
26 Rome Rampage (UIFL) (NOTE: sold & repackaged as Georgia Rampage for 2013) 23 Cape Fear Heroes (AIF) 23 Evansville Rage (CIFL) (NOTE: relocated after the season finished)
18 Colorado Lightning (APFL) 17 Chicago Vipers (CIFL) (NOTE: finished as a travel-only team; folded after the season) 17 Florida Tarpons (UIFL)
16 Macon Steel (AIF) 16 Lakeland Raiders (UIFL) 13 Carolina Force (AIF) (NOTE: finished as a travel-only team; folded after the season) 12 Indianapolis Enforcers (CIFL) (NOTE: folded after the season) 10 Alabama Hammers (PIFL) 10 Allen Wranglers (IFL) (NOTE: sold after the season; renamed Texas Revolution) 9 Richmond Raiders (PIFL) 8 Saginaw Sting (CIFL)
7 Eastern Kentucky Drillers (UIFL) (NOTE: skipped playoffs due to low funds; joined CIFL after the season) 6 Port Huron Patriots (CIFL) 6 Sioux City Bandits (APFL) (NOTE: joined CPIFL after the season) 4 Oklahoma Defenders (APFL) (NOTE: joined CPIFL after the season) 4 New Mexico Stars (IFL) (NOTE: sold after the season; joined LSFL) 3 Knoxville Nighthawks (PIFL) 3 Mid-Missouri Outlaws (APFL) (NOTE: joined CPIFL after the season) 2 Columbus Lions (PIFL) 1 Cedar Rapids Titans (IFL) 1 Everett Raptors (IFL) (NOTE: folded after the season) 1 Council Bluffs Express (APFL) (NOTE: sold after the season; relocated & renamed Lincoln Haymakers; joined CPIFL)[/color]

We were pretty close by league:
AIF (6) UIFL (6) APFL (3) LSFL (1)
We went too high on the CIFL, but we were dead on with the AIF, UIFL and APFL. PIFL and IFL were somewhat high as well and none of us went LSFL (although we should've).More fun: Total points received by league: AIF - 246 UIFL - 140 CIFL - 66 APFL - 58 PIFL - 24 IFL - 16 LSFL - 0

Congrats on the win.
Out of all the contests, this is the one I really want to win, lol. Tallying up the scores can be a pain, as you can tell by my procrastination, but the contest itself sure is a lot of fun.
