This was, I believe, posted by a Springfield fan on the Mid-Mo website's fan page.

It takes two teams to fight. While one team may be more culpable than the other, I doubt the other is totally innocent. Ref's can also do a better job of controlling things with personal foul penalties early and often until it gets under control. Ejections are the next step. I don't see how you take your team off the field though, were the ref's that bad and the game that out of control? I find that hard to believe and without an impartial view from someone at the game or video evidence we'll probably never know.
I'm curious to what the league will do to penalize the Outlaws for walking off the field. I don't think you can take their playoffs away, especially since Springfield would then make the playoffs and that would just encourage more teams to start melee's and try to get the other team to walk. There has to be some form of punishment though.

the refs in Springfield have always been awful, more out of ignorance. They just don't know the rules.
Who knows what really happened. Wrong of Mid-Mo to walk off the field though. They've always been classless.

Here's a photo of the Outlaws and Wolfpack, just before the Outlaws walked off the field (click on the image for a bigger view): The Wolfpack's home is just a practice facility that doesn't seat very many. No wonder they're semi-pro, they can't afford to be anything else in that place.

hey, some leagues have championship games in very similar places; regardless if the facility is actually worthy or able to host a game properly. Who knows maybe they had tents set up outside with screens so that people could pay money to sit outside the venue and watch the game. As semi-pro as they are it's sad how far the IFL wouldn't have to fall to be close to that level, not saying it will just saying they need to be very careful.

For what happened to Billings after that tornado, I thought they did a fantastic job of getting their practice facility ready as an alternate site on such short notice.

Mediacom Ice Park holds 1,100 and is always full. Percentage wise, I'd bet they draw more fans per seat than other teams. Great atmosphere.

I didn't say the circumstances were bad, just the setup compared to the semi-pro team. As far as my IFL league comment just take a look at Richmond, VA in 2010 & 2011.
Although I will say the game in Billings, MT ended up being a good environment overall during the game, except for halftime.

RC Cars and "Beef Eating" contests aren't that far apart either... I've heard buzz about a potential Championship game halftime that will be pretty good... Billings has never had halftimes worth remembering.. well I suppose the women's flag football exhibition was ok...

this is my last post off topic here but I really wanted to make a comment how it seemed that we not only brought over a few Outlaw players this season but also their halftime promotion guy! Our halftime shows have been very poor but as bad as they are I do appreciate not watching little girl/boy cheerleaders every halftime. Does anyone know if any of the players in the fight were suspended for the first round of playoffs? I'm assuming no.

Like I said though, a small facility (1,100) isn't enough to make money on and be able to pay players with revenue made. I'm sure I'd go to a game there and have a great time.

I agree...since I think this may be a crack at Bandits halftime shows...I get sick of the crappy halftime entertainment:(
