The North Texas Crunch have joined, but they have no returning teams from last season and the couple of other teams that were looking to join changed their mind and went elsewhere. It sure looks to me like this could be the end of the league.
If they do stick around, it may only be a semi-pro league. The league was always questionable as far as pro status, but the Blackhawks provided some form of compensation to players, whereas many other teams did next to nothing. When Troy Travis played for the Bears, I know he definitely got some money. Again, it was always questionable how "pro" they were, and even moreso now if they do return for next season.
If they return as a semi-pro only league, then I'll have to move this board down to the General section as this site is mainly for pro leagues. Unless of course a lot of people clamor to keep this board up with the pro leagues, then of course I'll keep it where it is.

I got word that the league is still looking to play in 2013. There are a handful of teams looking to be a part of the league, but everything is still uncertain at this point.
I'm guessing nothing will be final until a month before the season starts and even then some will still be rolling the dice.

The Nebraska Vipers have changed their name to the Kearney Hawks and moved to the Alliance Indoor Football League (a semi-pro league)
So, unless the North Texas Crunch can round up some more members, I think the APFL's done.

Even if it dies, I say this should be kept as an archive (as the old NIFL boards on OSC were for years).

Of course. I haven't destroyed any posts and I'm not going to. I'll just move this board to the DEFUNCT LEAGUES AND TEAMS section of this forum. All the posts from the SIFL board I had on here were moved there as well after that league died. When the AIFA died I also moved that board there and then resurrected them back to their own board when it came back as the AIF last year.

The North Texas Crunch say they have a schedule (not posted yet), which consists of 12 regular season games (6 at home in Fort Worth, Texas).
The DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth) Texans say on their facebook that they will be a part of the APFL.
It looks like the APFL may play on.
