Many of the league/team personnel (for each league) do.

Welcome the Baltimore Pitbulls to the AIFL www.facebook.com/#!/maryland.bucks?fref=ts I believe they are the renamed Maryland Bucks ... who were the renamed Chesapeake Iron Eagles.

4 out of the original 10 teams on the schedule have folded before the season has started now. The league now has 6 teams and a whole new schedule (see separate thread).
Can this league finish it's first season?

Erie Explosion Assistant Coach, Jeremy Liotta does not think much of the AIFL. He really gives it to the league and some of it's teams. Some people agree and some people fire back. There are 124 comments at the time of this posting link

He's right. The league is marketing itself as a pro league, but is semi-pro to the core. They already lost 4 of the original 10 teams from the original published league schedule. There will be games played, but the league will most likely fall apart before mid-season (or limp on with a few teams and maybe some replacement pickup teams). The level of play will be farcical for sure. Nothing against semi-pro players of course, but when the league is being marketed as pro, then it's a ripoff sham.

lol...this from a guy running a glorified city rec league? I see on the face book take he is all ready threating to ban players who speak there mind and/or ask questions "The POIFL is no longer associated with carbonconcepts.co or owner Mr Killen! I am not going to get into further details but if someone has a problem with that they will be ban from league! " "The league is not going to fold! Your owner John Reay is looking into purchasing the blow up walls that are needed for the field. Will keep everyone posted at most we might have to take 1-2 weeks off for them to arrive. Also there will be a few ppl ban from the league for bad mouthing it! " what about the canlsed games do to schduling conflict with the venue and teams not able to make it?
call a spade a spade...people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones...
that be said...he is of coarse likely right, but very strong words..
don't get me wrong, I think the model for his league is great for "Adult Amateur", (in my head "semi-pro" dosn't happen till @ a minumin the players don't pay to play...outher wize it just a competitive adult rec league ) and it likely to last, and it would be smart for the "start ups" to copy while they spaend a few years geting there feet under them..

Gunfighter - I think you misread the thread. Jeremy (assistant coach of the Erie Explosion) is trashing the AIFL, but the thread is on the POIFL facebook page, probably so it won't be removed. I believe an AIFL team has convinced half of a POIFL teams starters to come play for them with big promises that will most likely never happen. The POIFL is a semi-pro league, they call it an indoor developmental league, same thing and they will agree.
I do believe the AIFL will have alot of problems this year. Windy City Hitmen seem to have their act together, but I am not sure about alot of the other teams.

sounds like that what happened the link took me to the poifl facebook page..but coun't find the thread.. with out further input I had asumed(wrongly) it as the head of the POIFL talking smack( the dislexicea kicked in and i mixed then manes john and jerrmey together), hence the glass house refrances
thanks for clearing it up.. i don't see the issue here a "pro" team shows up and offers rec league players a few $$$ or to @ least let them play for free... is that not the entire reason these kids are paying said league to play?...to try to get a chance to move up? sure its dicy.....but the same can be said for almost any new team and almost any new league...
whats some one @ this level going to do if they are offered a contract? pass on what could be there one and only chance?
dose that mean he is correct.... likely yes .but the same can be said for most any new team and most new leagues..

Jeremy has been around the game for quite some time and he feels this AIFL team is all talk. Some others support him as well. The Thread was started on Sunday so it's not that far down and you can't miss the fact that there are 136 comments now.
