Change the name immediately. Every indoor team that went by the name Ghostriders immediately turned into a travel team before folding. The name has very bad karma. Not the Osceola Ghostriders. WIFL 2007

The Carolina Ghostriders (AIFL/AIFA) helped put that league in the pitiful footing it got itself into.

IMO if Mesquite goes CPIFL the league will be confirming to me that they are doing what every other league does, over expansion of the geographical fitting locations. I could be wrong but it seems like an over extension for the CPIFL.

It's called divisions, and it will be probably shorter travel within those divisions. Oh and over expansions, well in years past has been because of added like 5 or more teams per off-season which will not be the case here and only adding teams with quality ownership and that should continue just fine for the CPIFL.

How do you know they are going to play in the league? I sent a message on facebook to them and this is what they said to me "Still working on that as we speak actually....look for an announcement soon!" I havent seen an official announcement yet.

The head coach mentioned the IFL in a thread on FB someplace... two home and home's with Allen help out a travel budget quite a bit...
I guess we'll see... I'm sure the team itself was playing both sides of the fence.

Mesquite won't be joining the CPIFL ... got turned down. They'll be looking to get into the LSFL instead.
Quad Cities was going to join the CPIFL, but changed their minds and will be joining the IFL.
Green Bay will not leave the IFL for the CPIFL, they have new ownership and will stay in the IFL.

Aaaaaaaand the Renegades website is gone. They are redesigning it. They made a post on Facebook a little over a week ago. CPIFL just released a photo of the league and the only one missing is Mid-MO....not saying the Renegades couldn't move or not but they are redesigning

I feel it is less and less likely that the Renegades will be around this next season. Website is gone, other teams are making moves (coach changes, try-out, etc) but nothing is happening for the Renegades, the last post on their facebook page says big news coming in a week. THAT WAS A MONTH AND A HALF AGO.
Add this to the problems I had even getting my season tickets last season, and I am thinking that I want to see the team sold to someone who cares about the team. Unfortunately I think what I am going to get is just no team at all.
Congratulations. You have successfully alienated a season ticket buyer. That is the fan base you wanted to keep.

It is curious why they haven't updated their website or facebook page.
The rumor that they were moving to Dodge City didn't turn out to be true, but an expansion team is indeed setting up shop there with Bertz as the owner. Bertz formerly owned the Fairbanks Grizzlies in the IFL and he left the team in shambles by not paying bills and only an outpouring of community support kept the team alive to finish the season (that doesn't exactly bode well for his new team, does it?).
The 2014 CPIFL schedule is being finalized according to the Omaha Beef facebook page, so when it's published we'll get our answer on the status of the Renegades.
