There are some players in this league who still have a chance at playing at a higher level. Nothing wrong with them pursuing it.

But since it was posted on the CPIFL facebook page, it make me worry that OJ knows something about the fate of the team that we do not. Kind of like a person with inside info on the fact their company is going out of business will start looking for a new job. I am just scared that we are going to lose our indoor team......for a third time.

Pershing in Lincoln will remain for the 2014 season, they are booking events well into the late summer. After that is anyone's guess. I'm not sure on the ownership of the Ice Box, but it is in the middle of the new University Innovation Campus and at some point UNL will force its removal like it did the horse track. There has been idle talk of a new, smaller facility at the Events Center which would likely be good for indoor football, hockey and roller derby but it's nothing but a pipe dream at the moment.

When you say "Out of KC" do you mean KC proper? As in moving to Independence. Or do you mean out of KC, as in too a city an hour away? Because if he keeps the team within a half hour of me, I am still going to get season tickets.

Has to move it. Has no money and owes too many people money around here. There isn't a building in Kansas City he could afford to play in.

Dodge City Renegades? If he has debts, he'll probably change the name to try to make it look like two different teams in order to escape those debts.

Do you know some of the businesses the KC Owner is in debt to? I got a message from someone affiliated with the CPIFL saying that's bs. I believe you over them, but would like to shoot back with more specifics.

I can't speak to specific businesses, as I don't have that information. Nothing I'd go on record with anyway. I know a player who told me had to beg to have a second surgery done (broke his ankle in the first OK game)pro-bono because the hospital told him that insurance was cancelled long ago. According to him, it was cancelled during the season. The trainer can't help him with rehab because he hadn't been paid since at least half way through the season if not longer.
Coaches, players, and cheerleaders also haven't been paid. Team almost folded several times. Had to borrow money from the league on at least one occasion to make payroll.
The above you quoted though is my opinion. The people he owes money to around here are in my opinion the backbone of the team. None of them will be back unless settled up, ranging between 4-6 games worth. You lose experienced players, recruiters, coaches, etc... Everyone in the area who can help build a team. Matous wasn't fired. He left because he saw the writing on the wall. As far as the buildings piece; Kemper is the cheapest venue in town. Independence Center is likely the next affordable, but a significant jump in rent. If they couldn't afford to pay personnel while playing at the cheapest venue, I gather they wouldn't be able to make it in anothe arena with notable higher costs.

Is he banking on feeding the players next door at the casino's Ma Belle's Cafe (with the $9.99 prime rib buffet on selected days)?
