A source of mine in Lincoln says that Lincoln is undergoing an ownership change and the new ownership consists of the Omaha Beef ownership... Doesn't make a lot of sense, but I trust my guy in Lincoln.

I don't mean to question your connections, but I haven't heard anything like that at all from any of my connections.

I heard from a pretty reliable source that this is true.

If true, or even partially true, that would SOOOOOOO totally suck. Completely and totally without reservation SUCK! Edit: As Billy Joel has said 'you may be right, I may be crazy' ... sadly I'm asking around and starting to hear the same thing. Sadly, I bow my head and walk away. I like the Lincoln guys.

Unfortunately for the league and Lincoln...this is true. Not sure how that's even allowed...

conflict of interest abound...and I wonder who will get the short end?
Probably me and my fellow season ticket holders.

There should be a rule in any of the indoor leagues that prohibit multiple ownership of teams. It's happened to Lincoln before. The guy who founded the Capitols already owned the Tri-City Diesel and the Rapid City Red Dogs and then folded the Diesel after their best season. He was also part owner of the Kearney arena which went bankrupt and sold to a new owner who didn't want indoor football. The guy wanted a USBL basketball team that won a championship and then folded and then he sold out to the current owners (now the Viaero Events Center).

Maybe they need the Lincoln revenue to pay all the debt they still owe to Omaha businesses! I agree though...should not be allowed at any level or league. Hearing they did it to "block" another ownership group from buying it that would have poured a lot of $ into the team. Omaha didn't want to have to compete.

Not much is being put into the Omaha Beef since the end of last season, so as of right now Lincoln should likely sweep the Beef. Both franchises may be middle/bottom of the league unless things change before the season starts.

Been told a few things that really saddens me about the state of the franchise in Omaha... and how it relates to Lincoln. What the heck happened? Why all the changes? Not sure I would support the stuff I heard.

It's up to the owners, as far as the changes go. The BEEF are my team, so I hope things get better.

Pretty telling that both the league and the teams are not saying a word about this ownership change in Lincoln, despite confirmation from both teams. This owner couldn't even run one team last year, still owes coaches, staff and vendors from last season money. Now he is controlling two teams in a nine team league and you pretty much have to question the integrity of every move that either team makes, as the two teams are working together. CPIFL is quickly becoming a joke if this is how they are going to do business.

Hey...at least it has to make the Lincoln players and fans excited that their owner took a picture with Santa with a sign reading "all I want for Christmas is a Beef Chanpionship" and posted it to Facebook. Lincoln is clearly high on his priority list.
