So, what do you guys think about the new policy that they discussed on the Riggs show? I get one warning to sit down and stop enjoying the game, then I will be ejected? WTF. I can see an extreme case, but to make it a POLICY and then make an announcment on the radio about it... There are people who will hear that and abuse it just because they are a$$holes. And no I would not like to be reseated where I can stand up and yell. I worked my way to row 2 over several years, and I'll be danged if I am going to get fisted back into the high altitude seats. It's football, get into the game!

What exactly is the new policy?...for those of us that didn't hear the show. People can't stand anymore or something? If that's the case, they sure took many years to institute it as it's become a Section O tradition that has been lauded by the team and others in Sioux Falls. Must've been complaints by other fans up top or something.

Honestly, I'm fine with it. We've got to remember that 90% of Sioux Falls thinks TB should still be in jail. This "family friendly" thing has worked for Stampede. The Storm are looking to avoid editorials such as the one published in the Argus on July 28th

My seat was rather high up, so when people several rows ahead of me stood up and stayed standing, I was irritated to the point that I considered leaving the game after only five minutes of play. "
People like this are the reason that we'll NEVER get a new arena.

So I lose my good seats because I am excited? I read that letter, and that person can KMA. Go see a basketball game then, but leave me alone. We can try to all get along without giving the idiots among us official fodder to penalize those of us who are not dead in the stands. And no, it should not bother O it sounded to me. But, I do not want to go get a nosebleed at the top of O. I want my seats. The person who writes the bad editorial is not the many year season ticket holder who goes to every game.

It's a difficult situation for the front office. We had a similar problem, it seemed most of the the butts in seats are casual fans not diehards like the people that frequent the message boards.
We had lots of golf clappers, some even read a book during the game - WTF? How can you complain about people in front of you standing when you're reading.
To my knowledge no one was ever thrown out but management did talk to the diehards about whinners. Front office, owners, and players always came out to the tailgate and it was a regular discussion.
Where did they get their tickets? Friend of a Corporate sponsor, friend of a friend or what? The front office needs to try and accomodate all butts in seats and sell as many tickets as possible to whoever will put the money down.
We were told to try and find a happy medium, not to stand the entire game like a college basketball game. They did tell the whinners that it was ok to root for the team enthusiastically and stand or jump during exciting plays.
Luckily I've aleays sat up front and didn't have people in front of me. ;D

why doesn't Sioux Falls just do the right thing and TEAR THE **** BUILDING DOWN?!?!?! because in the eyes of >50% of the voters, no one ever goes to the arena anyway. Why spend taxpayers money to rebuild something no one uses. honest and for true. I read an article last summer quoted some yahoo as saying that the arena hasn't been sold out for anything since Elvis played it in the 60's.

I s'pose I am just having a bad week at work, and it is bleeding over. Although I am pretty sure the arena has sold out once or twice since the 60's. I just can't get over the idea of "some" people just looking for a reason to invoke this policy now that it is in fact policy. On a last note, I like our little house. I think it is just right for the tickets we will sell. We can sell out easy enough and be loud as heck, but we will not come close to filling a 12,000 seat arena. It would decrease the impact of the 5,000 fans we can put in the arena. 5,000 in a small space is louder than 5,000 in a big place.

I had my season tickets in the slaughter house in the back row of the lower section one year just so I could stand when I wanted and not worry about obstructing anyone's view. I used to stand with the Beef Jerkys as well in a similiar area. I still like to get seats in that area when I can, but since I never know how many people will be going with me each game I now buy tickets per game and finalize my tickets two weeks out (since most people can't commit and stay true to their committments anything farther than that).
My ridiculous yellow hat can sometimes get in the way as well, so I always try to be sensitive of that to those behind me and clear the air with them ahead of time just in case. The only time someone wanted me to remove it was United Bowl 1 in Sioux City, but they got their just deserts when Sioux Falls beat them for the title.

the Sioux City fan probably thought you were from Sioux Falls and were going to throw a chair at them.

LOL...maybe.
Mad Cow had an incident in Sioux City that always makes me laugh every time we go to Sioux City (I recall it every time we go there for some reason...some things just stick with you I guess). Anyway, Sioux City had beaten Omaha and all the Omaha fans were heading out to the bus and as Mad Cow was walking out of the stadium he held the door open for an elderly Sioux City fan. He said great game and she replied back F U. LOL, classic. You'd have thought she'd be more cheery with her team winning and all.

Christ, not the chair again. One bad apple and we hear about it till the end of time. Besides, I heard he was a reformed Sioux City fan....Now I suppose next we can talk about the wide field goal of 2005....

Hell, the chair will live in infamy. I end up reminding BLZ and?or BNDC every time I go down there that their chairs are bolted down.

At Bmt Driller games, we were able to stand the entire time, no one wanted to sit around us with our noise cans...
