Good news for the Beef is that they have the Haymakers twice. And since Rich Tokheim, the owner of the Beef, bought the Haymakers, the Haymakers have become absolutely inept. Not sure if this is intentional, but when you "trade" away your best defensive to your other team for nothing...it would appear that he does not want Lincoln to be competitive. That Inept team just got a shot in the arm tonight from an Old "Friend." From what I've heard, Chuck "Don't Call me Brett Favre" Wright played very well and helped the Haymakers to a 54 - 50 Win tonight. They May not be so INEPT Afterall.

Quarterback play has held back a lot of the bottom tier teams in this league. I think the Kansas City Renegades of last year are a good example of this. They struggled at that position in the beginning of the year, but then signed Chris Coffin and they ripped off 6 or 7 wins in a row. The same thing can be said with the Oklahoma Defenders so far this year. If Chuck Wright stays healthy Lincoln could surprise some people with a few wins.

What a debacle- Give credit for Lincoln to manage a win and make improvements...even when the Beef lost in the past they were at least competitive..losing to great teams. Not a team put together by duct tape. What happened to the old coaching staff? seemed like they had the ship moving in the right direction. Oh well- The Danger beat a really sound football team in Bemidgi.

Well firstly - I promised my mom and my wife I'd never visit indoor football forums again...so please don't tell them! My impressions of the game the other night...(I left with about 10 mins left to go) - I love the Slaughterhouse West! Very nice venue all in all! - These teams really weren't that different. The biggest difference was how each dealt with adversity. Once the Haymakers got momentum in the second half they just rolled and they couldn't be stopped. Once the Beef took the second half punch in the mouth they seemed deflated. - The Beef need to find a vet at QB plain and simple to have a shot of making the playoffs. The difference in QB play that night was Chappel threw that first pick and he was tentative for the rest of the game (which made things worse). Wright threw a pick and shook it off. - The Haymakers had a heck of a running game! - The Haymakers defense made some big plays. The Beef's defense kept them in the game early but their offense couldn't match the defense's intensity. - The Beef fans - just as awesome as ever! There were a small group of Haymaker fans there. But in no way did this crowd make me remember the days of the Capitols v Beef games. I'm pretty far out of the loop as far as rumors, team knowledge, and general fandom go...but I'm hoping the Beef can get back on track. They have a beautiful arena that has room for some banners. I may be cheering for the Haymakers but I still got some love for the team that got me started loving indoor football. Anyway - just another typical random Hawkeye post.

Why does your Mom and Wife want you to avoid forums?
The venue is indeed nice ... wish I was there to experience it.
I haven't been able to see the Beef games much this year, but others say they are weak up front.
Nice to see you back. Keep on with the running and biking as well, looking good.

I can agree with what hawkeye said. I'd prefer a more seasoned QB leading this team, but chapple can get the job done. He can really sling the ball around when the offensive line is blocking for him or the center isn't snapping the ball 5 yards past him. Those are drive killers. The offensive line is the reason he wont be playing this weekend in bloomington. He got laid out by an defensive lineman. There were numerous times in the dodge city game where we were on the one yard line and about to score, but we couldnt get any push up front. They stopped us on fourth and one multiple times.

Go watch the video the cpifl posted from the game saturday. The :10 second mark is a prime example of the offensive line getting blown up and it forced a turnover.

That video showed how bad the Beef really are this year. They couldn't tackle, they couldn't block, they looked lifeless, they looked unorganized ... never seen the team like this before.

Chuck Wright playing for Lincoln. Chris Coffin playing for Omaha. Folks, we've entered the Twilight Zone.

Don't live the life others want for you, but at the same time don't be irresponsible either. Live your life and surround yourself with those that support you ... and take good care of those people.
