2015 Indoor Football "Dead Pool" Challenge
BASIC RULES:
Pick ten (10) teams (and one alternate) that you think will fold during the 2015 indoor season, give them DEADPOOL POINT VALUES from 1-10, and receive those points when that team goes under. Also, if a team is on your pick roster that folds after the season, or encounters certain problems mentioned below, you will also receive bonus points. Further, picking IFL, PIFL, or CIF teams, will also result in additional bonus points if they fold.

You can send your pick sheet in a reply to this thread if you don't mind that your picks are public. If you want to submit them privately, then E-mail them to indoorfootballdeadpool@gmail.com
SUBMISSION DEADLINE:
The contest deadline to submit your picks is on 20 March 2015, Friday, at 6pm ET / 5pm CT / 4pm MT / 3pm PT. If a team folds or has something happen that affects points before that time, it will not count in the contest. The contest will begin right at the deadline mentioned above. You can change your picks at any time before the deadline. An alternate pick is asked for along with the regular 10 picks in case a team folds before the deadline and you do not submit an updated pick roster before then. In that case, your roster will be amended with the folded team removed and all teams below that removed team will move up one spot (the alternate team will slide into the 1pt slot).
POINTS & BONUS POINTS:
1) Deadpool Points: You will receive points numbered 1-10 if a team you picked folds during the season. The definition of folding for this contest includes a team actually folding, replacing the majority of it's roster with semi-pro players, becoming a travel-only team, or not playing a game for which they are at fault (Banana Cat will be the judge on all situations).
2) Regular Points: You will receive 2 points every time a team folds (contest definition of folding) and that team is on your roster (to go along with your deadpool points). This will also occur if a team folds after the season. This contest ends when all pro leagues announce their 2016 schedules. If a team is not on a 2016 league schedule, then they will be declared dead and you will get 2 points if you picked them.
3) Fractional Points: You will receive 1/3 of a point if a team on your roster changes it's head coach for any reason during the season. You will also receive 1/3 of a point if a team on your roster changes it's primary owner/managing partner for any reason during the season (if a team's primary owner is not listed, then any change in ownership will count). There may be teams that have to change a head coach or primary owner for a valid reason, but due to the amount of lies in this sport it will not matter what the reason is so as to avoid arguing over whether it is valid or not. If a team you received fractional points for later folds, you will then get regular points and the fractional points will be removed.
4) Bonus Points: You will receive an additional 5 points if you pick an IFL or PIFL team and they fold before making a 2016 pro league schedule. You will receive an additional 3 points if you pick a CIF team and they fold before make a 2016 pro league schedule.
5) Tommy Points: If a team makes it thru the season and that team's owner is later inducted into that league's hall of fame, and that team then switches leagues in the offseason, and that team is on your pick roster, then you will receive 25 points.
STRATEGY:
Fill up the bulk of your pick sheet with teams you really think will fold during the season (contest definition of fold). Fill up the rest of your roster with teams you think will fold after the season. If you think a particular team from the IFL, PIFL, or CIF will not return in a pro league for 2016, then put them on your roster to try to collect bonus points. Give the teams you think will fold during the season your highest "deadpool" point values since that is the only way to receive those "deadpool" roster points, and give the teams you think will fold after the season the lowest point values (because you won't receive roster points for them, only regular bonus points).

TEAMS INELIGIBLE TO BE PICKED:
PIFL Harrisburg; CIF New Mexico; AIF Maryland.
Maryland Eagles AIF team is a travel-only team and will not be eligible to be picked for this contest. Travel-only teams are too hard to monitor as far as changes since they are usually a collection of whoever is around at any particular time, so trying to determine if all the players were let go or walked, or if someone else is playing in their uniforms at the away game location, is too much trouble to go into. Also, CIF New Mexico Stars and PIFL Harrisburg Stampede are not eligible to be picked either since they have already folded.
FULL RULES:
This a DEADPOOL contest, but it does not mean you need a team to fold to get points or for them to be declared "folded" for contest purposes. The definition of folding for this contest will not only include a team outright folding up shop, but it will also cover teams dumping the majority of their regular players and bringing in replacement semi-pro players to finish out the season, becoming a travel-only team, or not playing a scheduled game. If a game is rescheduled and ACTUALLY played later then that is fine, but if a game is not played then Banana Cat will determine which team is at fault and they will be declared folded (both teams could also be declared folded in extreme situations). Valid reasons for not playing a game can include extreme weather, weather damage or other damage not caused by the team to the stadium, etc (Banana Cat will make the final ruling). Also, if a team qualifies for the playoffs and does not go for whatever reason, then that will also be considered as folding in-season for contest purposes. If the dumping of players is in question, Banana Cat will have the final say on the matter (if that is not agreeable to you, then do not participate).
When a team goes under during the season (not after), you will receive the Deadpool Points you assigned that team. You will also receive Regular Points (2 points) for every team that folds in the offseason (meaning they don't make a pro league schedule for 2016). Banana Cat will be the judge on what constitutes a pro league in 2016. You will also receive 1/3 of a point if a team on your roster replaces it's head coach during the season (no matter what the reason is). You will also receive 1/3 of a point if a team on your roster replaces it's majority owner during the season for whatever the reason (if a majority owner is not listed, then any change in ownership will count). You will not receive fractional points if those two changes happen after the season. Some good teams with valid reasons for making a change at head coach or in majority ownership may get caught up in that rule designed to catch slimeball teams, but as unfortunate as that may be I do not want to wade thru the lies of what is valid (because the lies and deceit are numerous). If you received fractional points, but that team later folds, then you will have those fractional points removed and you will be upgraded to receive regular points (2 points) and any bonus points that may apply. It does not matter if a team changes leagues before they get on a 2016 pro league schedule, just as long as they are on one. A team can be declared "folded or contests purposes" during the season (see above for definition) and then return and make a pro league schedule for 2016, but that doesn't matter. If they were declared folded DURING the season by Banana Cat, then that is what they are FOR CONTEST PURPOSES. Bonus points: You will receive an additional 5 points if you pick an IFL or PIFL team and they fold before making a 2016 pro league schedule. You will receive an additional 3 points if you pick a CIF team and they fold before make a 2016 pro league schedule. Tommy Points: If a team makes it thru the season and the owner is later inducted into that league's hall of fame, and then switches leagues in the offseason, and that team is on your pick roster, then you will receive 25 points.
If you submit your roster publicly, it cannot be exactly the same as someone else's public roster, so you must make a small change to make it different (besides changing the alternate pick). If you submit the exact same roster publicly that someone else submitted publicly, and that roster ends up winning the contest, then whoever submitted the roster publicly first will win the contest. This does not apply to rosters submitted privately. So get your rosters submitted as soon as possible, or submit then via Email, or don't copy someone else's public roster.
This is the ultimate deadpool contest for indoor football. The reason this contest will go up until all pro leagues announce their 2016 schedules is to capture those teams that lie so well to hide the fact they folded in-season. Also, having the offseason included makes the contest more challenging and opens up teams to be chosen who wouldn't otherwise be chosen by the majority of players. It makes the contest a lot more interesting and fun. Yes, that means the contest will likely not be finished until November or December, but meh, where else you going to be?
Good luck and happy picking.
