I was at the press release yesterday and an additional team in the Northeast was let out as part of the IFA. So I am now able to release the additional as Lockport, NY. Also there was discussions about a team out the Toronto, Ont Canada area.

How about the IFA/SIF/CIFL website, that site is bad!! It has not been updated in weeks, one of the worst league sites. Why all the IFA/SIF/CIFL logos??
I thought the Xleague website was pretty good, Florida Tarpons still use that website.

So which teams is the SIF going to go forward with? I heard they'll be using the SIF as the league name for 2016, with IFA as a governing body. Totally ridiculous to have the IFA as a governing body when everyone knows it's the same people running things.
I heard the teams so far are Cape Fear, Buffalo, Reading (ASI), and Lockport, as well as some travel only teams. Those 4 main teams are all I've heard about lately though. It's getting late, they need to finalize things and announce a schedule soon. Cape Fear already has to redo their schedule since four games on their originally announced schedule are kaput (2 vs Owensboro and 2 vs Erie).

That is all the teams I have heard, and I have not heard anything from this new New York team. I am thinking Cape Fear should play an independent schedule this year and try to find or start a league next year.
Wonder if Erie and Marion (wherever they plan to play) are planning to play together next year?

The chances of Erie and Marion returning in their current form are slim. Not many teams return from a year off and when they do they find most sponsors and fans don't return with them.

You are totally correct, I am just saying that because they decided to suspend operations so close together, so close to the season starting.

Minnesota (Mankato) Havok of the IFL just folded. Better now instead of during the season. IFL now down to 10 teams, whereas in October when they announced their schedule they were at 12.

As a follower of the non-outdoor game since 1987, I cannot in good faith trust ANY INDOOR FOOTBALL organization that aligns themselves with the dreaded arena football. This is what it appears Chicago has done on their facebook page. And if that is the case, they cannot count on my support / attendance.

Expect Marion to play this year with new sponser. Possible Erie yet to play this year. Owner still trying to put something together. If not able, then laying groundwork for next year. Has not given up on the Indoor game for this year yet as impossible as that may seem. I think its a valiant effort, A huge hill to climb but until the IFA or SIF starts their sched I really don't count anything out with this start up league. Best to build for next year.

I heard from two different people that Erie is still looking to play in the SIF this year. Cape Fear, Buffalo, Lockport (NY), and a travel-only Cleveland Pack as well. IFA/SIF is very poorly planned. It's February and they still haven't finalized their teams or published a full league schedule.

There are still negotiations in the works. Several items need to be cleared up. You're right about the teams. There is also a possible travel team out of Toronto. If anything, I expect this yr to be a base level operation this season. To see who shakes out strong enough to come back in 2017. After a build up season, I expect in 2017 they will work to strengthen the league in team quality and player level. Just get by in 2016.

I heard Erie will be sticking to their announcement of sitting 2016 out. I also heard another AIF team is out, that makes 5 down that were announced on the schedule now.

As of Feb 17th, Erie is still luke warm (old adage I know you've heard that one Ha Ha) Several things are still in the works. If they go it'll be the IFA or SFL (whichever). Expect a different venue in suburban Erie and not the 6500 seat downtown Erie Insurance Arena. 4 or 5 dates secured.

4 or 5 dates secured seems pretty definite.
