Okay, let me preface this by saying I'd be quite surprised if this were true, but I've gotten it from multiple good sources...
Seems nonsensical...but here we go.
I'm hearing the Storm will either/or/both be fined a lot of money for workers' comp and insurance issues...or they'll be forfeiting some games due to this.
I don't know any more, but that's important enough rumbling that it should be posted.

the business side of things might be down, I haven't heard anything that would lead me to believe what you're saying though. Office staff has been shuffled, new CEO brought in to handle the business side, working to let the football people do the football stuff and the business things to the business stuff. Plausible, but unlikely.

Will report them when I do.

I think it was a miscommunication between team and league (surprise) more than anything major. But I, like others, have very limited knowledge of everything and would not be well versed to speculate.

www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/?id=3812187IFL levies discipline of Sioux Falls StormApril 24, 2009 - Indoor Football League (IFL) Richmond, VA: The Indoor Football League announced today, the issuing of a several part discipline on the Sioux Falls Storm, members of its Central Division. "The Storm are, a valued part of our league but were not in compliance with league regulations. As the IFL strives to be the strongest it can possibly be, the league will not tolerate such behavior and our board took strong action on the matter," stated league commissioner Tommy Benizio. The discipline includes the limitation of the Storm to dress 20 players rather than the regular 21 for the remainder of their regular season games, the transfer of the Storms first possible home playoff game to their opponent, and the reversal of 5 of their 6 wins giving them a 1-5 record. No victories will be awarded to the Storms opponents. Sioux Falls (1-5) travels to take on the Billings Outlaws (4-1) in Montana tomorrow night at 7:05 PM Mountain Time. This game can be viewed via the internet by logging onto www.b2now.com. Any further questions regarding this matter should be directed to the IFL league office and Commissioner Tommy Benizio at 804-643-7277.

Well there is obviously more to this story that someone isnt telling Not really. The story has it right, although it didn't mention in the details that it was just like Josh said and due to the Storm not having workmans comp at the start of the season. Big shock, isn't it? I feel bad for the Storm, but at the same time that's a huge error on their part. If someone had gotten injured and they had no insurance, well, there isn't a more worse case scenario than that.

if a single player had been refused medical case, or some sh*t because of it.. by all means..do this shi*t.. but I'm about 99.99999% sure they paid their bills. so, no athlete suffered.
matter of fact, the players were better taken care of in the interim..

What about rumors that other teams aren't paying people? They don't get fined? I agree with BT ; if a player had been refused medidcal attention - then I could see it. I know that some teams have paid cash to doctors, etc. for injuries to avoid work comp files - so perhaps the Storm would have gone that route. The fine alone would have been enough. This is a load of crap. The other teams don't get a victory, but the Storm are charged a loss? And a man short? I'm not a Storm fan - but even less a fan of the league.

I agree with Texxx. If nothing bad had happened from it, nothing should've happened to the Storm because of it. If someone got denied care or something, you simply strip the franchise from an owner that would do that.
The forfeitures are inappropriate.
I agree with the Storm. The question of the integrity of the league has to be considered. Teams like Saginaw aren't paying players (I received more information on the Body story throughout the week), and the Storm get screwed for opting to pay medical expenses out-of-pocket - something they can do.
Oh, and you may as well book it now - Storm will win the IFL this year. 20 men or not.

What about rumors that other teams aren't paying people? They don't get fined? Yeah, there's a reason Saginaw isn't paying people. And, um...they probably wouldn't have the cash to pay a fine, either. Like I say - want to prove you're premier? If someone's pulling this kind of **** (and the workers' comp isn't what I'm referring to, because the Storm would've had the capacity to just pay expenses out-of-pocket)...revoke the franchise immediately. Solve the problem before it really becomes one.

[chest thump] I really don't like this one being true, but I did call it pretty nicely [/chest thump]
This isn't the end of this story. (This part is simply a prediction on my part) I'm expecting a lawsuit out of this deal, because the penalty (in my opinion) is more egregious than the error, ESPECIALLY since the Storm had it fixed before the IFL caught on. If not: Sioux Falls has beaten Bloomington and Rochester on the road...those are two teams they have a good chance of seeing again in the playoffs. They play in Billings tonight, another team they have a good chance of seeing again.
This story's not over. I'd be quite surprised if Sioux Falls "ended" with as many as 5 losses, but then again, they might just go 9-5 and win the whole thing just to prove a point. Then leave the IFL, which is starting to become a parody of itself.
