Anyone been watching the 2010 World Cup? Personally soccer (or football as the rest of the world knows it) bores me. Watching it that is. Playing it, or any sport for that matter, can be fun. Watching soccer is just plain boring, but I think that about pretty much every sport except American Football and Women's Billiards. Oh yeah, the Ninja Warrior obstacle course is pretty cool too. These two soccer videos (granted one isn't about soccer, but what would happen if the noisemakers from this world cup were used in another situation) sum up the soccer situation pretty good: www.theonion.com/video/soccer-officially-announces-it-is-gay,17603/ www.collegehumor.com/video:1937652

I've watched each USA game and a handful of others. I've also dozed off during a few other games.
I'm looking forward to Wednesday and USA playing Algeria for a spot in the round of 16. It's a big game.
Funny videos btw.

I do follow the results and would like to see USA upset the big boys of the soccer community, but that's about it.

I googled the horns today during some downtime.. sonova if they aren't the same stadium horns they used to hand out at Storm home games.

In all seriousness, I'm glad ESPN has filtered out the vuvuzalas from their broadcast. The buzz is still there, it just isn't as pronounced.

I prefer to watch the games on Univision, or ESPN Deportes.. I don't speak Spanish, but you don't need to to be able follow the game.

I can't even take highlights. Every couple of days I go to the 2010 FIFA World Cup page on wikipedia and everything is laid out as far as scores and standings. I won't remember player names a week after it ends, so I don't bother to learn them. Man, have I become grumpy and set in my ways or what? Don't answer that.

France getting embarrassed by going 0-3 and out of the cup is something nice to see. The french are going crazy over it, like the world is ending...lol. Next I'd like to see England go down. Those are two countries where they can get quite stuffy (believe me, I've been to both many times) and I love it when the wind is taken out of their sails.

Only when they're handed out in Sioux City, or Lincoln both of our owners are too cheap to hand out ANYTHING for free Agreed. However, after having to listen to them directly in the back of my head for years watching games, I would like to have them banned from the stands (the horns that is... not vajayjay's... the more the merrier there). I don't know what's worse... having it blasted in your ear for 3 hours OR getting the accumulated spit blown onto you, your wife, and kids at least 3 times before halftime of every game. I have great love for my fellow Bandit fans, but unless you can sell me on some cultural relevance as to it's need in stadium like they have pulled off in South Africa with the World Cup, I say leave those things home or drop them in the trash on your way in the door. Or... maybe we can convince Bob to give all of ours that we have left to Sioux Falls to hand out at their games... they need something to supplement the 6 t-shirts and the sleeve of golf balls they hand out at their games during promotional/halftime breaks. Besides, it would give SF fans something other than chairs to throw around.
