Tornado, Dixon leaving, and owner not wanting to start over, finished off one of the best teams ever...oh well.
Sioux Falls, Sioux City, Omaha, Wyoming, and Allen are now the five longest consecutively running indoor franchises left, each from 2000-on.
Tulsa is the longest consecutively running franchise left in arena, going since 2000 as well.

since most of us don't cross post to osc:
Super, I guess deadlines are really just suggestions, meanwhile those of us waiting for a schedule to come out are now forced to wait another two weeks or so. Billings, SO could have waited, furthering the idea that Parnell simply wanted out because he wasn't loosing enough to write everything off in Billings, or loosing too much for his taste.
I'm frankly getting pretty tired of these late half-assed attempts at adding teams this late. The team is already behind the 8-ball, former AFL team = poor indoor support, less time to recruit and sign players, less time to market, the only positive is it gives Allen, Wichita and Amarillo a nice short road trip.
*EDIT*
OKC was included in the final 2011 schedule which should be released later in the week. Crazy!

agreed, It'll be interesting to see what the Bandit fans think of the APFL. For Bob it's pure genius as he'll continue to get people in the door and won't have to pay out as much for coaches, players, perks, and league fees. On the field, it might be fun again for Sioux City fans, but any victories will be a bit hallow.

If the APFL can cut out the semi-pro replacement teams that permeate the start of the season and occur later in the season when regularly scheduled opponents can't make it, then most Bandit fans will be happy. If they get a lot of the semi-pro teams in there, well...you can ask the Cavalry fans how they liked those games when they happened in the AIFA.

Updated the final status of IFL team movement from the 2010 season going into the 2011 season.
Overall the IFL went down from 25 to 22 teams.
The IFL lost a staggering 10 teams (7 of them folded). The IFL claims it weeded out the weak and got stronger, but I disagree. Some of the teams may have needed to go (mainly Alaska and West Michigan), but not 40% of them (which is just a couple teams short of being half the league).
The IFL gained 7 teams through expansion and movement from other leagues and is the only thing that saves the offseason from looking like a total disaster.
The IFL is still the best indoor league going, but if they truly want to stand out from the rest they need to try harder to help teams succeed and thrive for the long term. The current system is obviously not working. How many will depart next year?

Im sure more will follow next year. After SF wins it all again others will close the doors. Mainly those owners who know there is shady business going on.

Some owners may actually not care as much, and actually find it a challenge to try to beat them anyway.

no BT just cheat to win, but that's everyone's motto. What's the saying, if you're not cheating you're not trying?
