Hard to say at this point. The AIFA is experiencing problems on many levels right now, so I wouldn't be surprised at anything.

Their web site appears to have gone into a historical mode and a link to the AIFA is gone. Although this is just an observation, I think the writing is on the wall. Sometimes actions speak louder than words. Here is another observation. The AIFA announced many months ago that a new team will be playing in Trenton, NJ. They even hosted a game between NJ Revolution and Harrisburg Stampede. Now on the AIFA website, on the top where all the teams are listed and links to their sites, Trenton Steel logo isnt there but the Reno Barrons logo is. I see in their forum that Trenton announced a tryout. Just an observation, but with the state of the AIFA, and Trenton being a league owned team, are they going to play in 2011 or is this just someone not paying attention. Again, just an observation. Excellent observation on the first part, but the AIFA website has always been bad at updating logos at the top of the page. They did the same last year. The Barons logo went up to take the place of the Express logo as most believe the AIFA knew Reading were leaving before it was announced. The AIFA press release wishing the Express success was written for the week after the championship(July 25) but not released until 3 1/2 weeks later(Aug 18). I think the Cavalry did not give a much notice. Just thinking out loud here. The Steel were announced some time ago so it is old news. The Barons were a new addition so putting their logo up is hotter news and gets people talking. We can only wait and see what happens in the AIFA.

It appears the parent company of the NJ Revolution have announced that the Revs are done. From their website: "NJREVS.com is the official website of the NJ Revolution. All up to date information can be found on this website. The NJ Revolution was founded in October of 2005. A franchise that has lasted through all the harsh economic times has decided to change its focus and direction. After enjoying 5 years as a professional arena/indoor football team from 2006 until 2010 and playing in numerous top level venues on the east coast and mid west, the franchise and parent company have decided to take the next few years to concentrate on building a national sports venture with a much broader scope and outreach. It’s time for the company to build on a bigger and brighter future. The Revs, as the fans have named them, brought affordable family fun to the community while interacting with many local and state wide charities and youth groups. The company often donated game tickets, their time and also made numerous monetary donations to charitable organizations. In the coming years, we hope to extend our sphere of positive influence to a greater area and audience. In the meanwhile, the company wishes to thank all those who supported them and were a part of the Revolution family.

Updated the status again. NJ folded, moved two confirmed West teams (Reno and Yakima) to status unknown since West Conf looks EXTREMELY doubtful it will return in 2011.

Added Eugene, Oregon expansion team (not 100% final, but that's never held the AIFA back...it'll be done this week).
I guess I have a team to see while in Oregon now, too bad it's the AIFA though. I'll avoid the inevitable semi-pro replacement game fill-in dates of course.

Updated status to reflect going defunct for 2011. It will be interesting to see if they can indeed start in 2012 or are permanently dark without ever having played a game.
