Dang! They would have been great additions...Austin was a great fit for the SIFL...cool town and good team. The SIFL is working on other teams to join for 2011, Shreveport being the latest.

Wow, I always thought this would be a deep south league. How'd they pull all that off?

They lied! lol Be very careful when you use terms like lie, oh former PR shrill for a league that included Carolyn Shiver and Tony Pewonski, et al. BTW, congratulations on getting most of it right, and mentioning how great my year one PR was ... I appreciated that.

Updated status. Carolina Speed were the sixth team from the AIFA to join the SIFLAIFA, not Baltimore (folded). Carolina folded after 2009, but are brought back from dead here to complete the AIFA deal.

I may need to shift gears and adopt Trenton now that my home state is in the mix, never saw that coming. I'll still probably end up going to a game somewhere in Alabama though. Either way, I'm going to be very cynical about the whole thing.

Cynicism and being a fan of professional indoor/arena football seem to go hand in hand.
I just try to go and watch the football and ignore the rest when I'm at a game. As long as the game is between two legitimate teams and not replacement/semi-pro players, then you have a shot at a decent game.
I'm very vocal in my opinion that the indoor rules are better (for me, everyone's different), but I go to arena games when there's nothing else going on. I don't enjoy it as much as indoor, but in the end it's better than sitting at home.

Updated Fayetteville's expansion team name to Force (hopefully they'll be better prepared than the Greenville Force).

I do expect all the SIFL teams to complete the season and pay their players (or if they don't, the league will step in). The only reason I believe that is because they are trying to sell themselves to the AFL as the foundation to restart the new AF2 (AFL Tier 2). They will put as much lipstick on this pig as they have to.
