Right now there are currently 23 IFL teams for the 2009 season since Louisiana's departure. This is all conjecture on my part, but I'd see divisional alignment going something like this:
Abilene Ruff Riders El Paso Generals Odessa Roughnecks San Angelo Stampede Express
CenTex Barracudas Corpus Christi Hammerheads Frisco Thunder Wichita Wild
Alaska Wild Everett Destroyers Fairbanks Grizzlies Billings Outlaws
Colorado Ice Omaha Beef Sioux City Bandits Sioux Falls Storm
Lehigh Valley Outlawz Maryland Maniacs Rochester Raiders
Bloomington Extreme Muskegon Thunder River City Rage Saginaw Sting

What if Frisco is really done as well? I'm not sure how they'll set up games, but I hope we get to see something more than Texas teams here.

You'll see more than Texas teams, for sure. I'm just theorizing anyway, you might see no or only a few Texas teams.

Jim DePaul has gone completely AWOL the past few weeks. Hopefully nothing's wrong, but I think that might have something to do with it.

I think the pacific division is pretty spread out.
as noted in a previous post. can we PLEASE get a home/home series with each of the divisional opponents. I (personally) haven't seen the Beef play in Sioux falls since 2006.. I shat you not.

I think they should rename the conferences. It is to similar to the past. They should be progressing forward.

Moving forward is great, but I like the little nods to the past.

I'd like it to read as Intense Conference and United Conference, having "football" stuck in there seems a little unnecessary.

They want to sound something like the NFL.

Okay, but these indoor leagues sure don't act like the NFL.

I'd like it to read as Intense Conference and United Conference, having "football" stuck in there seems a little unnecessary. It's just like you said. It's Intense Conference & United Conference. Someone from Fairbanks must have thrown "football" in there on their own.

Personally - whether or not football is in the name of the conference doesn't matter to me. Who is actually in the conference does. Maybe if the league office put out some releases, we'd have the real answers about names, teams, etc.
