Just a heads up, I plan on doing some live blogging during my time down at the League Meetings coming up next week here in Omaha. Obviously, I will be at the discretion of the higher ups as to what stays within the walls and what can be discussed, but hopefully I can shed some light on a few of the important points being ironed out to give some people outside of the Omaha area a good idea of what's going on. Of course the meetings span from the 11th of next week up until the 13th, so expect some updates around then. My completely up-to-date blog [sic] can be found here, beeffootball.blogspot.com, although I do hope to be able to start actually updating it with Beef/league material when school settles down and I have a bit of time.

Indoor Football League To Hold First-Ever League Meetings
09/11/08 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
• Omaha, NE - The teams of the newly-formed Indoor Football League (IFL) will come together this week in Omaha, Nebraska to finalize details for the league's inaugural 2009 campaign.
The meetings, which are closed to the public, will be held Thursday-Saturday at the DoubleTree Hotel and Executive Meeting Center in downtown Omaha. Representatives from the eight existing teams from United Indoor Football (UIF) and the nine from Intense Football League as well as officials from both leagues will be attendance.
Prior to the meetings, the teams have agreed on the rules and regulations and the new operations manual for the league.
The main topic for the meetings will be league growth and expansion for the 2009 season. In addition to the 17 quality teams from the UIF and Intense Football League that are already in place, there has been an enthusiastic response from teams looking to join the IFL. These teams come from other smaller regional leagues and also include several new expansion markets that make sense geographically as the IFL continues to establish their national footprint.
Paul Aaron, UIF Executive Director, said there are concrete reasons why teams are interested in joining the IFL.
"Our reputation for performance and quality has been cited by most of these teams as their reason for considering the IFL," Aaron said. "We have been able to explain that each team in the IFL owns the league, has equity in the league and determines how it is operated. "

The teams they let in will show how professional the IFL plans to be. Simple as that.
As we've seen on OSC recently...there's a couple ownership groups that have applied (okay, four, since DePaul has his fingers in Williamsport and Syracuse) that if accepted, will show me that the IFL really isn't interested in being a successful league.

Tis is where no information is, well no information. Just because a team applied there's nothing to guarantee that this team is even been "offered an interview" so to speak.

Yeah. Looks like we're going to have to get used to getting "no information" out of this league.
Luckily, we're already used to it with the two leagues that make up the IFL.

Dude, what has there been to disseminate? why list teams that are going to present, since some of them are likely to bomb? how can they creep back to their existing leagues? I've met Robert, I've shared a beer with him, I have faith he'll get us the information when it ready to be released. Until then.. It's september. I'm just hoping he has a house to go back to.

I wish I could help, but between school and work I've been so swamped the last few days that I wasn't even able to attend any of the meetings from Day One, which will likely be the case today, too.
Hopefully I can talk to some of the Beef staff that has been able to attend to get an idea on what it has been like.

I don't see anyone in a hurry to bring you back...sucks since you actually went the distance to get what little information you were given out there, but that's how things appear to be going.
