I imagine we'll be hearing more from Wichita and Alaska after the league meetings on 11-13 Sep. I think until then things may be quiet for the most part.

I can't speak for Alaska, but we hardly hear form Wichita during the season. Aside from the expected announcement of a new coach, I don't expect to hear anything else. Maybe I should switch to Beef fan. At least the colors are the same. ;D

I can say with full assurance, even before the league meetings, that neither Alaska nor Wichita will be changing their names.

Alaska should change their name, just because it's easier to come up with a name.
although I like the Wicatha (spelling...I know) Warlocks

When you ask a team to change their name, you're basically asking them to start all over from scratch. It's very hard for a team to re-establish themselves under a new identity once they've already branded themselves and built a name in the community. Besides, there is quite a cost factor involved. And in a league structured the way the IFL is, there is a very slim chance that these two teams would cross paths anyway. So there's really no need for name changes to begin with.

true enough, but should the two ever meet in the United Bowl, it sure would be ... um ... wild.

They could call it the "WILD Bowl."

They could call it the "WILD Bowl." If they were both to be playing for the championship I would call it a MIRACLE.

Maybe someday years from now -- it could be possible. But in the next year or two --- I'd have to agree

If Alaska keeps improving and can figure out how to win a few on the road enough to get home playoff games, that wouldn't be a shock at all.
If Wichita can create at least the illusion of offense, it might be good for them as well.
