Having a little fun here. By way of Facebook some of my family from Salt Lake have started to contacting me more than ever over the past 20 or so years.
Because of this they are all coming up to Livingston, MT (about 120 miles west of Billings) for a family reunion on Saturday. My intention was always to attend the entire reunion and watch the game on TV. But in the end I couldn't do it. By my count I have only missed 4 Outlaw home games in the past 10 years and two were for the birth of my 2 boys. So I have decided to attend as much of the reunion on Saturday before making the 1 and half drive back to Billings to attend the game.
So do I owe them an apology or just tell them I haven't seen them in 20 years and the Outlaws are more important?

It's family, they forgive.
Just have a friend call your cell and say an emergency has come up at work/friend needs help/mistress needs to be bailed out of jail/have to let the dog out to go to the bathroom/left the iron on/have to watch Lady Gaga Concert on payperview/have to go to a PeeWee Herman Book Signing/etc.
Or tell the truth, hey it's been fun all, but I have to go to my football game, see all of you in 20 years. Before heading out the door give a big speech. "There's such a thing as manners." Go to the fish tank. "These fish. These fish have manners. You know what, these fish are coming with me." Take the fish out and put them in plastic bag. "Who's coming with me. Anyone. Well, this is awkward." Look at the fish. "You. You complete me." As you head out the door say: "Show me the money."

...I want your disease....I want your horror...poke her face. She has some great lines. She's huge the world over, I've gone in to some countries that I amazed at how much into her they are. I find it weird you took issue with Lady Gaga and not PeeWee Herman...hmmm.

Ok, in all seriousness. Do what YOU want to do. If you want to go to the game, go to the game. We only live once. If this was a regular season game, I'd say go to the reunion, but this is a title game. You have to decide what is more important to you. If you go to the reunion and cut out early, that'd be the best option. Just let them know up front what's going on. The women will berate you, but the men will understand. How much time does one need at a family reunion anyway, after two hours I'm ready to break with eyes like a caged animal. Family's great, but I can only take so much...but that's just me.

I am going up Friday and hang out with the fam as they arrive into town. Spend the night in Livingston and hit the BBQ Saturday as long as I can and head to the game.

not a bad person. A day and a half at a reunion is plenty.

As long as you go to some of the reunion, I don't see any issue. I don't even think you are obligated to tell them why you are leaving... since you were there for at least some of it.
