In 2005 I was a Legends ballboy! I believe we played the Johnstown Riverhawks in that game and won...
There's also this year, in our final home game. I convinced a couple of friends to tag along as we played Huntington. We're losing 39-36 (IIRC) on the last play, McMullen throws a pass into the end zone, Huntington deflects...and it's caught be WR Kevin Mason! The crowd goes wild! ;D
Hopefully I'll have more like that if the Legends return, and when the Wildcats start play. I also am hoping to make it to at least one Marion Mayhem game.
My greatest "moment" would have to be my trip last season to Fairbanks, AK. It was the first trip that I actually took with the players. It was a great experience, one that I will never forget. If any of you ever get a opportunity to actually travel with the players, don't pass up on it.
Traveling with the players is great. We had the cheerleaders (approximately 20 of them) travel with us to the UIFA All Star game this year, that was fun as well (would've been more fun if I was 20 years younger). I don't think I've ever had a bad experience on a bus or carpool trip, they've all been great.
"Minor league pro football is a weird universe filled with bounced checks, unpaid bills, empty promises, out-right lies, empty arenas, endless women, endless booze, occasionally drugs, endless trips on rented buses to towns on the outskirts of the Big Time and, for one night a week, a football game." -- Bill Shea
Indoor Bowl II - Billings made a run to get back into the game, and with the opportunity to take a lead early in the fourth, Brandon Schillinger got his field goal try blocked by DeJuan Goulde, a BK that was returned for the game-changing touchdown - great moment, and the crowd was the loudest I've ever heard in the Wheeling Civic Center (or any indoor arena).
Being a communications director for a league for a year wasn't too bad, either.

2007 World Indoor Bowl, Columbus, Ga. The pre-game radio show was underway. Video and photo was in place. Press row was fully staffed. Everything was in place. For the first time in 9 months, I didn't have a darn thing to do. It was the best 15 minutes of my career.
All this sport does is go around in circles. I'm from Daytona, where you can make good money doing that.

having been around this game for so long, I have several greatest moments.
1. Discovering sack monster Leif Murphy. and my one man propaganda campaign despite the naysaying of AFL fans. Never giving up hope that he would make it to the indoor games top eschelon. And making yearly pleas & overtures to the AFL, that he should be playing in the league. Watching my now good friend become arguably Indoor Football greatest defensive end in the process. It brings a tear of joy to my eye, I hype you not.
2. Being knighted as the Omaha BEEF Official Good Luck Charm by another friend, Coach Robert Fuller. And subsequently being awarded my own chapter of the Omaha Meatheads, The Windy City Chapter.
2. Attending the inaugural AFL season in 1987, and seeing the Chicago Bruisers win attain their 1st victory.
3. Attending ArenaBowl 88 aka ABII in 1988 after the Bruisers 10-1-1 season.
4. Experiencing my 1st ever UIF game in and the enlightenment that accompanied the event. Indoor Football UIF style IS better than Arena Football.
5. Attending the National Indoor Football Championship in Sioux Falls .2008. Witnessing the birth of a new league and meeting some great fans and dignitaries. Wow !
there are more , many more ... meeting Bobby Sippio, meeting and dining with Jim Foster and his parents, making the acquaitance of 2008 AFL Defensive Player of the Year Dennison Robinson, and the sage advice he gave me when it comes to haters.Meeting fans and making friends everywhere I go.
and though it has never put a single dime in my pocket, I love this game with all my heart and soul.

it's okay ... while there is no crying in baseball. (broken hearted little leaguers not included)
Football allows us to wear our hearts on our sleeves. As fans, we live and very nearly die with the rises and falls of out favorite teams and players.
When our favorite NFL players retire, we feel their pain as they give their farewell addresses. We remember the zillions of thrills they gave us, and we let our love show. I know I have. And I am not ashamed.
When the chosen few who are inducted into the Hall of Fame, are our favorites,we recall to mind again all those thrilling moments that got them there, all the inspiring hard work and sacrifice. And we are able to rejoice with them. One last time.
It's one of the most beautiful things about the game. It allows us all to be human.
