I try to stay away from rumors, it's more fun to speculate without knowing what rumors are circulating. However, I keep getting asked about Sioux City joining the APFL. It makes sense for them considering how much Bob Scott is willing to spend on them, but I for one hope they stay in the IFL since I'd hate to see the SF/SC/Oma rivalry go away. I suppose they could play preseason games against each other though.

I don't think any of us likes the thought of our closest rival going away. Bob will use his position to get the league to cheapen itself up again (just like last season) and they'll be back

Sioux City would make money in the APFL...one of the few teams who could say that in any league.
The financials/business model of the APFL makes sense...more sense than the IFL anyway.

The business model of the APFL makes sense IF you think your fans will accept the lower quality of play. It will work in SC because the team there has been bad for a number of years. I don't think the APFL would go over well in Wichita. That quality of play would not be accepted after the last two seasons of IFL. Wichita did have APFL a few years ago and attendance and quality of play was awful. The fans here appreciate the higher level of talent. Each market is different, but there is definately a place for the APFL.

Just because we suck for years on end does not mean the fans would accept the lower level of play. We expect to beat omoha and sioux falls every time we play them, it just hasn't happen the last dozen times or so.

The difference between the leagues, any of the leagues, top to bottom really isn't that large.
Most of you commenting haven't even seen an APFL game or a game outside of the league you support.
There are differences, yes, but the difference is small enough as to where it's mostly unnoticeable.
Besides, you don't think adding more teams would increase the talent level and competition level?

I would love to see the Blackhawks vs. any of the top teams in the IFL. Do you actually think the Blackhawks would have a chance?

Do you actually think the Blackhawks would have a chance? as much as a chance as West Michigan, Maryland, Chicago, La Crosse, Sioux City, Colorado, Corpus Christi, Austin, Abilene, Kent, and Alaska. News Flash- Iowa is ran better than most of those teams.

I partially agree with you, CF4L. Sioux City and Chicago are ran well in my opinion. Mark Carley does a great job running the business in Sioux City. Absolutely, the other teams you mentioned are not run in a good way.
I think Sioux City would dominat every team in the APFL. Had the Bandits been in any other division, they may have been division champs. The team was not that bad.
The IFL has bad teams, but to think that the top of the APFL could come within 30 points of the top of the IFL is nonsense.

the APFL you saw couldn't compete very well.
As it stands, all the teams in the APFL have good talent (except maybe Kansas, but even they have guys who have played in the IFL recently).
The semi-pro Springfield Wolfpack's starting QB started for your Wichita Wild last season. And he brought IFL WRs and DBs with him down there.
Iowa has IFL caliber players on the roster, Banana Cat could vouch for that.
Could the top of the APFL compete with the top of the IFL as it stands? No, probably not. But then, neither can 3/4 of the IFL itself.

The APFL is not competitive, I have been to several Blackhawk games and I went with an open mind. Not impressed, and I think pretty much all of the teams in the IFL would easily win that league. Let's be real now, I am sure that the Blackhawks are a well run organization and that is fine, but who on that team could play for Omaha? Sioux City even? I know there have been players from that league that have gone on to IFL teams, but to pay a guy $25 or $50 a game, how competitive do you expect to be? The Blackhawks or Mid-Missouri would win 1 maybe 2 games, maybe in any conference in the IFL. I am saying this as a former player and fan. Not trying to piss anyone off or anything, just keeping it real.

And you don't think if one or more of those teams moved to a different league they wouldn't be paid more? Obviously if the IFL adopted the APFL way of paying (or not paying) players things would change. The APFL teams don't lie about paying or not paying, the IFL teams do (West Michigan, anyone?). These players people claim wouldn't pay for a % of gate...well...if that was the only option across indoor football you don't think they'd play? Well, if you say so...
