Hard question for me as far as indoor goes.
This year I thought Sankey would take the Beef far into the playoffs when I heard he was going to be the starter so I was high on him. He did play well, so he was one of my favorites this year. I always like O.J. Simpson and Mike Jones, hell, I usually like all the players on my team that play hard and there a lot of them. One player over the years though, I can't narrow it down.
In the NFL it's Fouts on offense and Seau on defense for overall. I really like Ray Lewis a lot as well, hell the whole Baltimore defense really. I liked watching Buddy Ryan's defenses too, especially in Philadelphia. Kurt Warner is a favorite just for the fact of how he came up into the league, through arena, then NFL Europe, and finally the NFL. Gates is my favorite TE.
Overall I'm not too much of a player guy, prefer the team more. Sooner or later a lot of players eff up somehow with a stupid statement or act and it really turns me off. I'm not one of those to worship athletes, I respect what they can do on the field though. People are people in the end. I like Ray Lewis for what he's overcome and how he's become one of the greatest of all time for turning his life around and becoming an example for others to follow. That's what I like to see more than anything.

in the modern professional football era it's hard to be a fan of a single player. whether it's indoor, or NFL, it's a rare occasion where a player stays with a team long enough to actually be associated with that team. When you hear Joe Naimith, you're thinking NY Jets, Johnny Unitas, colts, etc.
for the sake of brevity, i'll spare you the list of Storm and Cowboy players that.
Fred Jackson Darrell Green (still the fastest man in the NFL when he was in his late 30's)
Spetlar Tonga The "Other" number 5... he's such a nightmare to cover, I'm watching Friday Night Lights, (the NBC Series) and the QB is in shotgun spread, wears #5 and takes off on the QB draw... I had flashbacks ... he's that good... maybe not "like" but mad respect for his skills.

Steve Young was always my favorite to watch. I was just a kid when he took over the Niners, loved his abilities and attitude. The play that Burger King made a commericial with.
There was also a play where Young ran in the endzone and got hit late. He poped right in the defenders face and there was a nice brawl.
I also respect him as a commentator.

Personally speaking, my favorite NFL player is Vernon Davis. I feel that he's improved tremendously over the years and it's awesome to see that transformation!!
