Brenner is my pick for MVP and her team is my pick to win it all.

BRENNER’S SIMPLE DESIRE: CHAMPIONSHIP FOR DALLAS
After falling one game short of playing in the Lingerie Bowl last season, Dallas Desire quarterback Linda Brenner is doing everything she can so history doesn’t repeat itself. Brenner continues to push herself to the limit on and off the field to make sure the Desire play for the ultimate prize this season.
“I’ve been working on my footwork a lot and learning to read the defense,” said Brenner. “I’m a perfectionist and strive to be the best at all I do. I train a lot, sometimes overboard.”
It’s also pretty clear to her what has to be different this season for the Desire to end up as champs instead of the Los Angeles Temptation or anyone else.
“We need to stay focused all the way to the end, which I don’t think any of us, especially the veterans, will have a problem doing. We’ve already seen what happened once we lost focus. We are all smart girls, we won’t make the same mistake twice.”
During the 2009-’10 campaign, Dallas suffered its only regular season loss in Seattle. Candis Mosley and Toni Kelley, who are known as “The Twin Towers,” missed the team flight to that game and the league did not allow them to play after they arrived at the arena late. Recently, Kelley was suspended for an incident during practice, but she has since been reinstated.
“It’s very important that (Kelley) is back on the team. Not only is she an awesome player, but she has so much heart and love for this game. She has desire and passion. That’s something you can’t teach.”
Brenner tossed a league-high eight touchdown passes last season and was picked off just once. For being one of the top players in the Lingerie Football League, she was rewarded with a trip to Mexico to play in the All-Fantasy Game in June.
“It was definitely one of the best experiences of my life. We stayed at an amazing resort and were treated like royalty. My Western Conference teammates were great, even the LA girls – our rivals. Arena Monterrey in Mexico was beautiful and was nearly sold out. They had the best fans I’ve ever played in front of and it was amazing.”
With all of her offseason training and workouts, Brenner’s statistics might improve this year, but she doesn’t care if she tosses the most TD passes in the LFL. She just wants to be on the last team standing.
“My only goal is to win the LFL Bowl. I’m not concerned with my personal stats. I just want to win. If I happen to lead the league in TD passes again, great, but if we don’t win, it means nothing.”
The Desire play back-to-back weeks in early September and then not again for nearly three months when they take on the defending champions. Staying on top of their game for the matchup with the Temptation won’t be an issue for Dallas if Brenner has her way.
“We just need to stay focused and continue to work hard as if there wasn’t a break. I would’ve paid for a rematch after LA beat us in the playoffs. I know my team feels the same way.”
As far as a prediction for the December 3 Western Conference Championship Game rematch, Brenner isn’t shy about sharing her competitive thoughts over who wins.
“Dallas. We are hungry. Very hungry. Period.”
