I've heard rumors that Frisco might not be back due to arena issues and other things, but so far it's only been rumors.
Well, I noticed today on the UIFA website (http://www.unitedindoorfootball.com/) that it looks like the IFL is using the UIFA website to build the new IFL website, at least it looks that way...who knows. Anyway, the logos of the teams playing seems to be up to date except for one difference, no Frisco logo. It make me think that Frisco is done and won't play in 2009.

I don't think the arena will be ready in time for this season.

Renovations to Frisco's arena will not be complete until late June 2009 at the earliest. The Thunder are still dues-paying members of the IFL and are only going dark for the 2009 season.

right, we've all heard that before. Sure, we have all heard that before. But the fact still remains that they are paying their league dues every month, which I can attest to. And they plan on making a return in 2010.

Didn't the UIF Red Dogs keep paying league dues as well?
I don't recall them returning and actually hindered expansion there IIRC?

exactly.. I know of NO indoor team in the past that's ever come back from the dreaded year off. Now Frisco's situation is marginally different as they want to play but don't have any place to play in.
time will tell..
Vegas would start the odds at 100-1 against them returning.
Freedom is exactly correct, whoever wound up with the Rapid City Red Dog's UIF franchise paid dues until they didn't... would be a nice area to bridge the gap and perhaps bring Wyoming (back) in someday.

AF2's Iowa Barnstormers planned to go dark for a couple of years until the new arena was finished, but it ended up being 7 years off and new ownership in place upon their return. Other than them, no team has ever come back.

I think that under these circumstances Frisco can bounce back.
