With San Diego done as well, this brings the league total down to 11 (8 returnees and 3 expansion teams).

Dear Miami Caliente Fans:
It is with great regret that we are announcing the temporary suspension of operations in Miami. Our decision certainly did not come easy as we have invested a considerable amount of time and resource in Miami launching the Caliente franchise, dating back to 2007.
The primary reasoning for the suspension is the lack of a suitable and desirable Arena/Stadium that is conducive to our brand and business model. Neither BankAtlantic Center or FIU Stadium proved to be a great draw for fans as one was in a suburban location that normally does not do well for the LFL and the other being too far from the heart of the city to draw fans and unfortunately American Airlines Arena is not set up for indoor football. We exhausted all efforts in trying to keep LFL Football in Miami in talking to every possible venue, but ultimately none of them could support either our infrastructure or our business model.
The league continues to believe in the Miami market and as a new venue makes itself available, we will not hesitate to return as early as 2012. Hopefully you will continue to support LFL Football as the momentum builds until the day we return to South Florida.
We want to thank coach Bob Hewko and his staff, players and of course you the 8th Man for enabling us to have a 2yrs of LFL Football in Miami. Unfortunately, in professional sports the business model is just as important as the play on the field.
Sincerely,
Lingerie Football League
