B-Cat, I saw all the rumors about the SIFL setting itself up to be sold to the AFL next season and becoming AFL2...well I figured I would get the word from the horse's mouth, so to speak. Usually when I email Mr. Hager he is a saint when it comes to replies...sometimes within hours if not he will surely reply before the day is over. I was so impressed with his urgency of getting back with the fans. So I dropped him a line about the buyout by the New Jersey lawyer and the AFL2 scuttlebutt. Wouldn't you know....nothing....no reply. And that was about a month ago, still no reply. Mr. Hager's picture is still on the website, but he diffently wants to keep this news under wraps. Must be true, by him not sending a reply denying the rumors. That makes me because my son is now at the age (3 years) where we can enjoy live sports events together. However, if they league becomes AFL2, the Bucs will fold under the new inflated budget and most the the SIFL. lata, E_19

They still have to get the AFL to buy them though, I haven't heard of that happening yet. Thom Hagar is nothing more than a figurehead now according to many people, so it's not surprising you haven't heard from him. If the AFL doesn't buy the league, then your Bucs have a better shot to stay around.

I would think that the Bucs would be one of the very few teams strong enough to actually make it on an AF2 level. Really they are the only one that even resembles a viable AF2 team.
That said, I really hope none of this actually ends up happening. I want there to be an AF2 but not like this.

Until it actually happens it's not a done deal. Even deals thought done, like the selling of the Kent Predators to Tuckman, fall through. So until it happens, there's still a chance they can stay indoor.
Truthfully though, the rules of the SIFL were closer to arena style already and now they are even moreso since they are looking to become the AF2. If they do become AF2, the only changes will be the nets and a higher cost of doing business. The higher cost of doing business is the concern of course...can that area handle it/support it?
