The Crunch would have to be in a similar situation in order to get that last game in since they have a playoff game and most likely a championship to play in their own league that coincide with the final days of the SIFL regular season.

Apparently due to "last minute travel issues" Houma got a sacrificial lamb to slaughter instead of the Crunch and the game will count for stats and standings but not in determining playoff seeding. So it looks like the Hurricanes can play whoever they want whenever they get a chance in order for the league to meet its gurantee of playing every game and the cancellations won't effect the playoffs.

Or they can just skip playing the makeup game originally scheduled against the Kings (later changed to the Crunch) since it won't count for determining who makes the playoffs.

While serving as the president of sparkNet Creative, Johns is also the technology guru for the Turfcats working as the director of creative services. What was the top highlight of the inaugural SIFL season?A) Swashbucklers win third straight championship in second league. B) Play of Acadiana's Kimmie Lewis, LA's John Paul Jones and Austin's Darrick Wallace. C) Austin snaps Louisiana's 20-game win streak D) Houma rallies to playoff berth after 0-5 start. VOTE HERE:www.southernifl.com/>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Let me break down my thoughts on each of the choices. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ What was the top highlight of the inaugural SIFL season?[/u] (A) Play of Acadiana's Kimmie Lewis, LA's John Paul Jones and Austin's Darrick Wallace. - these players were expecected to have great individual years and they did. Kimmee rose further above his expectations than the others. (B) Houma rallies to playoff berth after 0-5 start.
- I wouldn't actually call a 3-9 record a "Highlight" - lol - someone had to claim the last seed. If they had lost their last game and the Hurricanes had won, then a 2-10 team would have grabbed the final berth. (C) Swashbucklers win third straight championship in second league.
While this is a commendable and difficult task, facing 100% expansion teams takes a little luster off the 3 - peat, especially returning what, 12 players from the previous championship roster. The main question was "the Top Highlight of the SIFL's season" and the two previous titles didn't involve the SIFL. Couple that with the fact it was the expected outcome it's difficult to be regarded as a Highlight of the SIFL's season. (D) Austin snaps Louisiana's 20-game win streak
This was a huge upset that was unexpected and shocked anyone following the SIFL. An expansion team knocking off back to back champs anytime is a highlight. Not only was it huge for Austin, I also feel it was good for the league. A Swashbuckler loss gave some hope to other teams and their fans which helped add excitement to the second half of the season. If the `Bucs would have just blown through the season thumping teams like the Chicago Slaughter did this year it would have turned into a boring season for many fans. Sure, I'm an Austin fan but I honestly believe this game was more meaningful to the league as a whole.
