Swashbucklers Join PIFL

LAKE CHARLES LA. -The Louisiana Swashbucklers announce their participation in the new Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL) for 2012.
The Swashbucklers will open their eighth season on March 17, 2012 against the Alabama Hammers at the Lake Charles Civic Center. The Bucs are coming off another season that took them to their fifth championship game in as many years. The Bucs have won three championships since 2005, and are prepared to face stiff competition in the new PIFL for 2012. Head Coach Darnell Lee is thrilled with the PIFL competitive balance. Coach Lee stated, "Every game will be an exciting display of Professional indoor football that is certain to entertain our dedicated fan base. We are proud to offer Southwest Louisiana the opportunity to experience professional indoor football at the highest competitive level."
Joining the Swashbucklers in the PIFL will be the Richmond Raiders, Albany Panthers, Alabama Hammers, Columbus Lions and the Knoxville Nighthawks. Kyle Thorne, team owner and CEO commented, "We are excited to be joining such a formidable slate of teams in the PIFL. We look forward to continuing the legacy of competitive football, exciting family entertainment, and community service in Southwest Louisiana for many years to come."

The Swashbucklers will have a 12 game regular season schedule beginning in early March 2012. The team will host six (6) regular season games at the Lake Charles Civic Center and play six games on the road. The Swashbucklers full season schedule will be released soon.
