A new UIFL team has been announced. They are doing a name the team contest! Let me be the first to suggest the Danville Dapper Dans. OK, not the best name but they'd have squeaky hair from a fictional product from O'Brother but it's all good!

CANTON, OH - The Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL), is pleased to announce that the 3rd expansion team for the 2012 season is Danville, IL.
Danville will play in the Northern Division of the UIFL and will begin play in March 2012. The team will play their home games at the Palmer Arena in Danville, IL. The Palmer Arena seats 2,500 fans.
In an effort to get the fans involved the Danville team will hold a name the team contest. To suggest a name go to www.theuifl.com The contest will run until July 7th, and a press conference to formally announce the team name, and logo will be held in late July or early August. One winner will be selected and receive four (4) season tickets for the Danville team, and everyone who suggests the winning name will receive two (2) free tickets to the home opener.

"We are very excited about the return of Football to Danville." states General Manager, Peter Blackmon "Football in 2006 showed strong potential and drew a terrific fan base. We think it will again."
At the press conference the UIFL will also announce ownership, front office staff, and more.
"We are excited to be working with Peter, and his staff at the Palmer Arena. We look forward to a long term relationship with the Palmer arena, and the city of Danville." Stated UIFL Co-Founder Andrew Haines.
Single game tickets will start at $7.00. Season tickets start at $42.00. The team will play 7 home games at the Palmer Arena starting in March 2012.
Danville, IL joins other 2012 expansion teams Rome, GA, and Fort Myers, FL. Additional teams in the UIFL Southern Division will be announced over the next few months.
